35+ clears between our FC's two groups. Not one axe or crook.
The WHM in one group is a WAR on his alt in the other group ... I wish I was making this up.

I think our group has been one of the luckiest ones going 7/8 on weapons.
WHM cane
Bow
BLM staff
Bow
sword
Spear
smn book
Smn book
Smn book
We obviously run 2 bards so everyone but our scholar has a weapon. Although nael has been teasing him lately with 2 smn book drops in a row lol
Actually our last two kills dropped smn book AND drg belt. Which sucks.
This is another great point as to why HA weapons need to be distributed differently. Come the expansion, that is three new jobs that will be on a weapon-chest loot table.
If people are already having horrible RNG with a chance of 1 out of 8, imagine how it will be with 1 out of 11.
If they insist on keeping some level of randomness, it would be nice if they could limit it to some degree. Particularly for the highest tier where you're subject to lockout. Having one weapon per class seems like it's a bit much, and it's just going to get worse as they add more classes. They already brought this up, the development team would currently prefer not to go back to a token based system.
It's safe to assume for the entire of "Coil" in 2.X, we'll have this system, that doesn't mean however that any new raid content in the future can't have a different system.
Just bad RNG, have to swallow it and deal with it.
Would be nice to have 3-4 token types that could be traded in for 3-4 token types. IE: 1 token for WAR,PLD,DRG another for WHM,SCH,SMN, and a third for BLM,BRD,MNK ... or something like that.
To be honest
Token system for weapons would be best if they don't wanna do it, they should just make last turn of coil drop only weapons >.>;
a token system would help with this as well.
the group im currently running with had to pug my spot the other day. and of course it was a healer drop and of course the random guy got it.
the general consensus was it sucks when a pug joins, gets the loot, and you never see them again. mind you, there is nothing wrong with it.
hell that person has been me a few times. i do not like statics. but there are a necessary evil.
however, if there was a token system it would make life easier for everyone. if your missing people today and need to pick up, no problem as long as you get the clear and the token for the week.
dont belong to a static and pug coil. no problem. run as much as you can and save your tokens for that drop you really want.
Tie it to the achievement so it's actually worth something, yeah. I mean, after 10 kills; it's pretty damn obvious you're capable of doing the fight and have 'earned' the right to look fancy in town.
They thought this random gear drops was good basing the decision on how WOW works, but they forgot that WOW has half the classes that we have
Another fine example of how people do not get statistics. People are complaining about imbalances in very small sample sizes. Each completion of T9 has a ~11% chance of dropping each specific weapon. You need a far larger sample size than the ~15 clears you have or the 112 clears listed in this thread to prove that the RNG is skewed.
