Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, and I know what I'm playing.

I've played Guild Wars 2, Age of Wushu, a bit of Aion, Tera, Wildstar, and ESO, and I've learned a thing or two from watching the shortcomings and issues with each of them, and sometimes even the good design choices.

Ultimately what you are talking about is fundamentally changing not only how the game is played, but also it's marketed demographic. Will FF14 change over the years, certainly. However it will most likely always have causal leanings. If you are looking for that to change then FFXIV is likely to disappoint you. Thus, perhaps it is not the MMO for you.
