    Option to block friend requests.

As many of you have found out bots now send friend requests so they can send advertisements via mailbox. Having to open friends list just to decline the request is something i find unnecessary. I suggest in the character options add an option to block incoming friend requests or the option to blacklist or decline on the friend request popup box instead of just clicking no and still have the friend request still pending. Those are my ideas on good fixes/stop gaps.

I'd be okay with this. I can't think of a single situation where I would want to accept a random out of the blue friend request from someone I don't know and have never interacted with, I think most people would just say something to each other so the other person would know to expect the request anyway, so for people that are really being annoyed by them I think it should be an option to disable it when they don't need it.

I think it's sad if it has to come down to that, but realistically I doubt it would hinder RMT much at all if SE were to put friend request restrictions on new characters. The RMT would just bot their way past the restrictions and then spam away leaving legit new players unable to friend each other.

This and allowing blacklist to take priority over friend requests. Also blocking you from sending requests after you send them in quick succession would shut those bots up.

the only people i have on my friends list were players i helped out when they were new, or past/current fc mates, or people i sell directly to. i like keeping track of the newbies i help out and keep an eye on there progress, possibly make a relic for them if they get close enough and i have the mats. i like sending moogle mail to old fc mates, just to see how they are doing, and so they know that i didnt leave because im a d**k. the people i sell to, i like to know they are on, and ask them what they want to buy (i sell them myth ingredients, raziqsandm, cashmere fleece, etc.) for cheaper than market price, so its always nice to know when they are on and what they want at that time.

no randoms, ever. i would like this feature, because if i say no on the little pop-up on the screen, i will say no when i open the friends list. its ridiculous that we have to do that. i went afk for a 10 minute shower, got back to 7 friend requests from bots spamming me tells.

    More than block...

Possible unintended consequence: when the RMT advertisers try to friend you, you cannot blacklist them until you have completely declined the friend invite.
As a PS3 player, this is a more than just a little annoying. While I do play on a big screen TV, the screen itself is across the room from where I sit. Since many of the RMT accounts are randomized characters, it is very difficult for me to read their names from where I sit, and then be able to correctly enter them into the "report for advertising" screen.
I was thrilled when SE added the functionality of blacklisting from the chat window, as this made it so much easier for me to stop the constant tells. This doesn't work with the new "friend invite" method, as I have to go decline the invitation first, then blacklist.
Personally, I would be happy for another short-cut option that would report them for advertising, blacklist them, and not be stopped by the friend invite all in one.

Allow to blacklist people while friend request is pending and make it auto cancel the request.

You don't need to type the names manually at all - even on PS3 you can Copy and Paste them (even without physical mouse or Keyboard connected).
For "one button" blacklist and friend request deny use the below macro (you can add /micon on top as well of your choice):

    Code:
    /flist deny <r>
    /blist add <r>
Place it on your crossbar somewhere and once you receive the RMT advert together with friendlist request clik it and then just say Yes to Blacklist - takes 2 seconds in total

you need a keyboard to do macros on ps3 & ps4 and not everyone has one. to have to make a macro just to deny & black list RMT Friend requests is something that players shouldn't have to do and that isn't even a fix/stop-gap because not everyone can do that. The problem with blacklisting RMTs is that they get banned and you wont know when they were so your blacklist fills up fast.
