So, I really like this character, and he'll probably remain my "main" for a while, but I just like having multiple characters, if only for the visual diversity. I designed this Miqo'te's entire appearance around the Monk's Artifact Armor, and I just don't see him working in the Paladin armor.
Anyways, I've been using the name "Terin" since I was a kid first learning to read. In fact, I got the name back when my dad first bought Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, a game that's near and dear to my heart. See, he named his character "Tyrone", and when I accidentally deleted his save-file, I tried to create a new save-file so that he wouldn't notice and get angry. I wound up spelling out the name "Terin", and I've been using it ever since then.
Well, as I got a little older, I decided that I needed a fictional surname, too (for RP'ing purposed, I suppose, but also because I was playing another MMO and I needed a last-name). Since I was playing FF7 at the time, and "Giga Flare" was one of the most powerful attacks that I'd seen, I wound up coming up with the stupid name of "Gigaslash".
That's right; "Terin Gigaslash". Just saying it makes you want to cringe, doesn't it?
So, I'd like some advice on a better name. I mean, part of me wonders if I should just stick with "Gigaslash", because it's just *so* bad, it's kind of interesting, but... I'd also like something that at least *sounds* like a legitimate Fantasy name.
Also, even though I seriously considered it at one point, I'm absolutely not using the name "Highwind", because it's just too common. I had thought about even naming my character "Benjamen Zash", as a pure reference to Mystic Quest, but honestly, as much as I love the game, I always associate that character with the name "Terin" more than I do the canon "Benjamen".
So, should I come up with something completely new? Should I stick with Gigaslash, or even play around and tweak the name a bit (as one friend suggested, maybe "Terin Gilgamesh")? Or even just call him "Terin Tyrone", as a reference to the strange story behind the name?
Honestly, *ANY* input is welcome and appreciated!![]()
