Beast Tribes Max-Rank Mega Quest - so many new details!

(Potential spoilers for absolutely everything Beast Tribe.)

Holy crap, that was a lot of stuff! The big, big things were the return of Shanga Meshanga and the Ashcrown Consortium and our first named male Keeper NPC* but there was also a ton of smaller things that I found equally interesting, like finding out that Sahagin spawnlings are exclusively air-breathing** and that Novv took on the role of Scarlet Sea Devil from his own clutchfather.

All in all, I really enjoyed it and found that it was satisfyingly hefty enough to properly cap off months of reputation grinding. About my only complaint is Novv can't seem to decide if my character is his son or his brother -.-;;

* Not a good showing from the Moon-Keepers so far, huh? Seekers are all competent badasses, like Y'sholta and U'odh Nunh, not to mention G'raha Tia and K'lyhia, while Keepers have Nashua Mhakaracca and this loser.

** What do they do about the rare female spawnlings? Raise them in air-filled chambers in the Indigo Matriarch's palace? Or are the Sahagin like clownfish? Because that would be awesome.

I only have to wait an extra day, but I am still jealous. I missed doing the Ixal quests on the first day due to extreme server congestion causing stability issues. I can progress onto the beast tribes alliance quests later today. Looking forward to seeing what happens very much.

Not that I know of. I'm half-expecting it to be a brick joke that'll make sense when they release the census next week.

Oh man when I first saw Nhaza'a Jaab my mind was spinning with potential theories trying to place them into the Ul'dah puzzles. So Ebon Claw is 1 of 5 deadly sell swords and his blade is eerily similar to one I've been trying to place FOREVER...for more in-depth see Anonymoose and my own posts. I know it's a huge reach and I always try to find out this question but it's explained that they are indeed involved in assassinations, sure the blade might just be a common one of Ul'dah but in a way I also feel SE wants this theory to be made when Nhaza'a shows it off, sure a lot of boasting tends to be the person sticking their blade out at an enemy but this is a special kind of baddy and they tend to have special weapons. I'm not saying Nhaza'a himself was the assassin as he's clearly right hand and the assassin was left handed, just that the blade and the throwing blades match up with the screenshots.

Niellefresne, Lord Lolorito, and Memeriga all share one common goal...a form of Necromancy. Nielle wanted to revive Warburton and ask him what the threat was. Lolorito wished to obtain an item through the Alacran from the Sultana that was similar to the Necromancy used by the Sil'dih which of course led to their own demise. Memeriga also wanted to use Necromancy to obtain an army similar to Lolorito but he messed with the wrong folks. Like I said a bit of a reach but hey the question of "Who assassinated Niellefresne and why?" hasn't been answered so I take what's given. (Though I do like the theory that Thancred was the one in 1.0 and would have been given a similar "betrayal" story by Tanaka that he was given by Yoshi P in 2.0 course thats just delicious drama for the Thancred fanboys and girls~).

Now all that aside I have to bring up a question about the 1569-II that was damaged by Garleans. I assume the number refers to the date of manufacturing..but in 1569 the Garleans weren't active in Eorzea yet, they were still hanging out in Ala Mhigo it wasn't till 1571 that the VIIth under Gaius van Darnus began it's march into Eorzea beginning their propaganda about Eikons and such.

As much as I like it, it does seem very "darksteelfoil hat." It was always suspected that Nielle's assassination was bought and paid for, and that the fact he was holding Heartstrike at the time might be why his body has never withered. For a time they even suspected his own brother, Colbernoux, ordered the hit. Personally, I've always found it suspicious that Mumuepo met Nielle, walked with him into the tomb, examined heartstrike there and only after that left to go fetch his tomes for their ritual, leaving Nielle alone to be assassinated only moments later. It would be a bizarre coincidence indeed if Nhaza'a Jaab carries a similar sword in a quest that itself is based in Necromancy and it didn't tie into Nielle somehow. It's less interesting, considering Thancred was also nearby and the assassin had his same dagger, but Thancred's always been right-handed. It's also less interesting than the theory that Warburton was the assassin, raised from the dead already, but, hey, open minds and whatnot. We'll see where it goes.

Now all that aside I have to bring up a question about the 1569-II that was damaged by Garleans.

What is the 1569-II? I didn't actually do these quests yet as I had a period of being far too bored with dailies to do them ... daily (/blush). The Garleans may not have been making war on Eorzea after 1557, but they were certainly active. Even after the Battle of Silvertear Skies, Garleans blocked major trade routes, kept a supply base in Mor Dhona, and hunted down Aha Mhigan resistance members. Mor Dhona had several airships stationed there even before the arrival of the VIIth, and we know that Highwind Skyways airships were on occasion shot down.

Airships once connected Eorzea with the other continents, but the Garlean invasion put an end to that. All flying vessels became targets for imperial aggression, and there was no recourse but to suspend all transcontinental routes until such time as safety could be guaranteed.

What is the 1569-II?

Think you pretty much figured it out on your own, more or less? But the details are that it's a very rare model and sought-after model of airship made by Garlond Ironworks and apparently only four were ever finished due to Garlean attacks.

It's a Garlond (as in Cid Garlond) airship, not a Garlean airship. Sounds similar but way different.

I'm pretty sure I remember him referring to me as his daughter. ^^
