Honestly I hope everything to do with Garleans disappears by 3.0 because there was enough Star Wars Empire rip off in FF12 (Arcadian Empire) and its ridiculous they wash/repeated it for 14.
You hope in vain, then. They still have Ala Mihgo under their control and Castrum Oriens still sits in the Black Shroud without having anything done with it. We won't be done done with them fully anytime soon even if in the current line of the story they're not active.
