    Augmented AF Gear.

So I've been looking at this..

I augmented my summoner's horn and noticed I cannot Armoire it again.
    Think this will be changed?

The next thing I was wondering.. is there a point other than glamour?
Do you think they will have some sort of further upgrade somewhere along the way?

Basically, do I augment all my AF gear or do I just augment those I wanna glamour?

I'm pretty sure that they're only for glamours.

People were asking to be allowed to dye their AF, so SE added augments. People weren't asking for it to require expensive items though, lol.

This. Proof being that they modified the Lightning Returns gear so that it can be dyed, and you don't have to spend a fortune to do so. The Augmented AF gear concept is stupid. Why it wasn't like dyeable LR gear or dyeable Darklight gear, who the hell knows. SE just seems to think that glamour stuff should be ridiculously hard to get, but actually usable gear should be easy. Such a backwards, stupid position.

I actually like the fact they were a bit of a challenge to obtain, it gave me something to work towards while I was bored and made me appreciate the end result more.

The hoops you have go through and the amount of gil spent to augment full AF gear is just crazy. I only did the the body for the monk because the monk body AF gear is the best looking gear for a monk IMO (besides saurian shirt which isn't too bad) it is abit rare and a quite an accomplishment if you do Augment full AF gear. Kudos to those people

A degree of challenge or work is fine. However, requiring 1150 myth tomes and 9 oaknots (or 45000 GC seals) for just one augment item, and requiring TWO such items for the pieces most people will want to have (other than the hat) is an absurd amount for what is in fact nothing but the ability to dye an item you already own. Hell, I could make a "dyeable Battlemage Robe", aka Cashmere Robe of Casting, for less than that requires, and the latter is actually usable in battle because it's an i90 HQ-able crafted gear, able to be made superior to Allagan gear and even to weathered soldiery or CT gear.
And it doesn't help that literally the only ones who can make these things are alchemists, who already got the lion's share of primal weapons and the item literally every piece of LHS crafted 3* gear requires two of. I really hope Square rebalances things a bit, BSM/ARM/CRP have been getting seriously shafted lately, particularly BSM.

Personally, I think there will be an AF armor upgrade eventually to go along with the AF weapon, and this is just the start of it. Seems like quite a bit of trouble just to color an item no where near useful after 50.

And this right here is what I've been fearing right as they introduced the Augmented AF. Yes, we already knew SE was going a tad overboard with glamours, but it just seemed fishy to me. Definitely not gonna be surprised if our AF2 is going to be related to all this... *shiver*

    Complete new AF, no upgrades

Which primal weapons, except the books, need Alchemist?
