I wish that I had MORE hours in the day to play! But then again, I craft and gather as well as do SCoB. If your play style is "rush to end game and get dat loot!" then I don't know what to tell you. Try PvP maybe?

If all those other excellent ideas above don't work I suggest watching a Thavnairian Onion grow, it's the best.

I'd get into being a completionist if you're sick of what you're doing now, go get all the mounts and minions, achievements, try to wait patiently for Golden Saucer, fail waiting and go yell at SE for taking too long :P, race chocobos, snowboard, play cards, and visit the Ul'dah Miners guild with the use of your Echo power. (..hehe)

You could just take a break for a while and wait for a few patches and/or the expansion and then get back into it.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet though, which you could probably spend a good amount of time on, is Frontlines. (looks like other people mentioned this while I was typing this post)

Best idea ever, 8 real life days of hair pulling

But yea... if you aren't having fun... why are you still playing to be honest.
I been moving from game to game once a game gets dull. Tried Neverwinter, Aion, TERA, Phantasy Star Online 2, Star Wars The Old Republic within the past year.

I still play this game because I enjoy talking to a few people on a regular basis. I spend most of my time stood still in Mist wondering what to do next.

Honestly all the tasks in this game are very mundane. You either need to do them all every day to unlock rewards, or run things once a week like ST.

As for crafting, don't get me started please... Crafting is AWFUL, it's a broken system where you need to actually level all crafts up to get all the skills required to craft high level things, that's not fun.

I've cleared T9 and I'm i110, I'm finding no joy in the game.
Well in my opinion, based on your opinion that nothing is fun, you should probably quit playing the game at least for now. Honestly, if you are not having any fun and none of the things that are available in the game are fun to you, then yeah. It's time you quit.

I get the stigma on crafting. I have gone a long time without getting into crafting. From Beta until 2.35 the highest crafting class I had was my Alchemist (6) followed by my Goldsmith (1), the rest weren't even unlocked.

But ever since the Ixali beastman quests were introduced I've been doing them and using them to level up my crafting jobs, and I'm actually having fun with it so far. Currently only rank 5 (will hit rank 6 tomorrow) on the Ixali rep, but my Alchemist is level 36, my Goldsmith is now lvl 19 and I've unlocked everything except Culinarian and have gotten those classes to level 6-7.

I'm personally finding the Ixali storyline quite fun and interesting, plus I'm trying to get all the beastman tribes to max rep anyway. For me, that's fun and I'm able to accomplish multiple things at the same time with this content.

With my crafting classes I can finally craft dyes now, and craft housing fixtures. So it's kinda nice to be able to do that. Eventually I'll get myself to where I won't have to rely on some other crafter to get the things I want made or have to pay rediculous prices for some things.. and might actually be able to make more gil. I guess I'll see.

Edit: Oh and by the way, GiGi is freaking HILARIOUS!! (npc Mammet in the GSM quests)

...wow. Some of you need to grow up. OP is asking for suggestions on what he could do that might interest him, I'm pretty damn sure he knows what he hasn't done, and hasn't done them because he's not interested. And yet, he gets responses like:

    Sounds a bit defensive.

OP, have you tried PVP yet? It's not for everyone, but maybe find a nice Frontlines Linkshell and see how it goes?

Also, you uh...strike me as the kind of person that clicks through text and cutscenes as fast as you can. Not that it's a bad thing, but not understanding the lore of the game you're in actually makes the game feel more boring to a lot of people, they just don't know it. If this is the case, why don't you spend time going through the storylines in the Inn? If I was wrong about that assumption, ignore that <_<

That all being said, taking a break from the game is very healthy, and can do wonders for how people think about the game itself. I myself took a break for 4 months, and came back to enjoy the game in a different way then I ever did before. Instead of focusing on progressing ASAP, I now go more slowly and enjoy the game's atmosphere and lore. Not for everyone, but I promise a break could help.

I hope you find something that interests you ^^

this counter-argument aggravates the hell out of me.

    not everyone enjoys leveling.
    not everyone enjoys melee classes.
    not everyone enjoys magic classes.
    not everyone enjoys crafting.
    not everyone enjoys gathering.

maybe instead of plastering their lodestone and faulting them on things they have not maxed, you could give some examples on
what got you out of the 'i have nothing to do' rut. or you could always, i dont know, not respond.

    *on topic*
tried and ranked up FLs to 40. got bored after..
    play pretty-dress-up-time and glamoured everything..
took up gardening those carrots you need for your chickens.
    daily hunts.
separated 'thing to do' throughout the week
-- tues is ST grind for my drop day
    -- wed is coil
    -- thurs etc

    Thanks for the support!

And hehe yeah you hit the nail on the head with the 'click through text part', I get the general jist of the story but having cleared Coil so far, I've actually not a single clue what happened.

I'd love to try Frontlines, but I do spend the vast majority of my time being social in-game, talking to lots of people and with the chat restrictions in there - it's not ideal for me.
