All this would do is bring a score of lvl 50 DPS characters who haven't got a clue how to play their class.

Wow, even I think this would be a bad idea, and im usually the king of bad ideas.
You need to use the class the entire leveling time, to find out what things do. it takes practice, which you get by leveling.
If you do this, just automatically give everyone all lvl 50's. it will be just as useless.
Why not just suggest all jobs shared the same EXP bar? ^^;
It would solve your problem completely as all of your jobs will be lv50 simultaneously.
And you don't need to lv your tank for 8times.
It's a pretty bad idea when you put it that way,
But im not denying that I did a similar(?) act
I'm a pretty new player in this game, and waiting for guildnest is really horrible for a dps class, (it almost took me 2hrs to go in satasha)
where in my position i'm in need to clear a certain dungeon to proceed on my main quest, kinda piss me off when i cant continue and just stuck there
I took the free trial, and lvl a tank and a healer...
what i did is just cutting a long Q, using duty finder several times with healer / tank, and change to my main dps and get into the duty finder faster than i normally wait
but in my case, i'm leveling all my characters though, and having fun trying other classes
i didnt even know when you have a lvl 50 character you gain an experience bonus hahaha ^^;

Yeah while the concept isn't inherently bad, it would be way to abused to make it worth the effort to balance.
Before I say anything, I want you to take the moment to think about the time when you had a tank in Duns who could not hold aggro or a healer who could not heal..*.Gasp*...Do I need to say anymore???

I think its a great idea for dps ^_^ Lets not pretend here people that there is any major skills required to dps... The ones that cause issue in dungeon most of the time are healer or tanks not knowing there rolls and they get there by FATE grind which we could do to get dps to high level and still not know the roll... they are other methods to get to 50 quickly but this would help queue time instead of doing nothing at all for anyone like the FATE. When dps are noob tank tend to put up tags if they cant even follow that then taking months instead of weeks to get to 50 is not going to cure them of foolishness.
The only reason I can really come up with is that the people who have tons of time to play between FATE grind and dungeons would get everything to 50 in like a week and be bored but the big push back here are from people already there and God forbid the ones that got there waiting forever to queue that they be an easier way now cause that would be the end of the world.

I don't like this idea. To be able to level a class without ever playing it just feels wrong. Only way I would be okay with it is if it had strict limitations akin to Supply & Provisioning missions. One dungeon per day for just a bit of EXP.
I'd much rather RIFT's queue system to be put in place. There you can queue as whatever role you have specs for. All we'd need to do here is put a check box of which class/job you want to queue as. Limit it to 3 selections (1DPS choice, 1 Healer choice, 1 Tank choice). This would help those of us with all 50s get a group and speed up queues for those without. Some days I'd personally love to go DPS instead of heals but I don't want the wait but then end up waiting 20+ minutes for a group because we need a tank, or one time even a DPS! This option would allow the DF to fill up anyway since it could just tell me I have to go as my selected tank or DPS class instead.
While the idea of leveling one class by playing a different one is ridiculous, I do wish we could enter DF indicating a set of classes/roles we could run and let it slot us into whichever is needed.
would be alright if your required to do the level 10-20 guildhests on that class before entering 50+ hard/extreme and coil/tower.
or all guildhests if 35+ have more to teach than the first 6
