    Die die die mechanics

    Just wondering about your opinion on this:

    The devs should implement mechanics that REQUIRES a player to die and be raised in future fights.

    For example, a confuse Debuff that cannot be cleansed by anything other than death; a doom status that cannot be removed on the main tank; a character becomes a walking bomb that will wipe the party unless killed.

    I'm thinking that for endgame fights like Final Coil and Savage Coil, mechanics like this could fit their way in. Give it some thought, and you will realize raise/resurrection is never a necessary skill. Currently, to the best of my knowledge, all fights can be cleared without someone ever having to die. The raise/resurrection skill is far from useless, but never essential. What if that all changed, and it became just as essential as a cure spell?

    Repair bills! I'd rather not. As it is, most fights tend to be game over once one or two people die, along with the fact that several fights have it once you die, you arent getting back up (titan, levi). With weakness, you're likely to die more, you wouldn't survive to aoe you would if you didn't have it (titan stomps for example) so you might as well be out for good. Fights that require someone to die would just be a pain in the backside, especially since the focus of everything at the moment is to NOT die.

    I would only be on board with something like this if they got rid of weakness. I'm pretty sure I said the same thing about FFXI at some point, too.

    Yeah I thought with weakness being a thing it wouldn't work but then again, I get the feeling it could work somehow, like that person not being targeted by certain attacks to avoid taking massive damage afterwards. And MP could be an issue, but that phase of the fight could be light on healing of course. I think the best argument is repair costs lol

    The point of the game is to stay up as you beat up a raid or dungeon. The whole die mechanic goes against that purpose.

    Yeah but you still gotta get raised, not just stay down :P but yeah you guys make good arguments. I'm not necessarily for or against it, just wanna see what the community thinks.

    They should do it like it was during 1.x
    No weakness if resurrected by someone
    3 Minute weakness if you use Return
    Double weakness if you died a second time while the first weakness was still there
