Huh? Oh, do you mean because of pricing? Was about to say "What does being a Legacy server matter?" But then I remembered that there are different ranges per servers on FC pricing so.. yeah, if that's what you meant, then I get it.

Yeah, we had different pricing and a lot of us have change just sitting around spread across retainers and characters.. If they make the houses more expensive again, the new players to the server will probably be SOL, if they use the same price across all servers - better fight the login queue XD.

Instanced housing/FC towns ;_; preaze.. lol (a number of MMOs have some very spiffy instanced content, for comparison at least).

I know a whole lot of people (myself included) that are doing our best to hang on until 2.4 and see how things go.

After the PR disaster that Hunts were... this needs to be a major success for them. And I'm all fine with taking a day off from work to get a shot at a nice plot if need be.

I really dont know how they're going to do pricing and/or sizes, but based on how they did FC houses, I'm sadly not optimistic that they arent going to put personal houses out of reach of all except the richest of the players, which would pretty much drive me out of here at that point.

I've got a nice little stash I think for someone who does a lot of solo stuff and doesnt live in the game 24/7, but I've got a drop in the bucket compared to friends who play all day all week long and have used every trick since launch to make money hand over fist.

Personal housing is something WildStar did right, and other games too. Here's hoping SE follows the trend of making it accessible to all those who want it, and not one more, annoying, unreasonable grind.

Unless there is a large number of wards for personal housing... I sure hope it's somewhat expensive and not everyone can afford it, else it will be packed full within minutes. (I know it was mentioned to be around 800~850k in one of the interviews, but they said it was still in consideration)

800k sounds too cheap if you consider what they did with FC housing prices on Legacy servers >_>

I would imagine each personal house will be a separate instance instead of the community zones that FC housing is. I wish SE would give even a small hint as to what we could expect...

Now, for me, it'd be the other way around. Any sort of race to get a good plot would automatically mean the entire housing system is a total failure. EVERYBODY needs to be able to get the plot they want at any time. On the other hand, if it's just a matter of being incredibly expensive, that's fine. If I don't have the money for it, then I can save up and eventually get it at some point down the road. But if it's limited to only the players lucky enough to secure the good plots first, there's no fixing that. There's no way to save up and eventually reach that privileged class. Any sort of competition for plots means that some players' money isn't as good as other players' and people paying the same subscriptions aren't entitled to the same game.

Price doesn't matter to me (as someone above me said, any price can be worked towards) but I hope they do away with restrictive wards to allow (almost) unlimited personal houses.

I also hope it isn't some insanely complex procedure to even become eligible to buy it. I like crafting and gardening looks great but the decisions they've made lately make me a little nervous about just how convoluted they could make something as simple as buying a piece of personal land.
