    New Healer Concept

    Hai guys!

    Was talking with some FC mates the other day and the concept of a new healer job came up. The question that immediately cropped up was "How many other ways are there to heal someone?"

    Well, this idea hit me.

    I am not an obsessive gamer. I cant do all the Stat, strength and speed calculations, so if the numbers are wrong I'm sure they can be fixed, but its the main concept that counts.

    I am aware this is a created class with no respect for FF lore. In my experience with FF there weren't any healer Mage classes besides White Mage, and Red Mage to a lesser extent (never played FFXI though).

    Anywhooo I wanted to put this out in the hopes that if it's a good idea then it may be used. More than happy for feedback and further brainstorming of this concept. (as well as skill/job titles and names).

    The Sanguinist uses their own life to revive others. They believe in the flow of aether through blood, and like the ink in an acranist's grimoire, can be used to shape magics by creating sigils and marks, strengthening their own damage and healing output.

    Main Class: CNJ
    Sub Class: Unsure

    Main Stat: MND
    Sub Stat: VIT

    Blood Oath

    This skill gives the caster "Blood Oath" status, where all spells cast are strengthened by 20%. In return all spells cost HP instead of MP.

    In addition, every Cure, Medica, Stone and Aero series cast has a 20% chance of being given a "Blood Pool" counter. This counter maxes out at 3.

    Blood Pool counters are used as a cost for higher level skills, similar to Aetherflow.

    Because of the 20% bonus to spells, the health cost compared to health gain isn't penalized much when healing oneself.

    Casts a buff on the entire party (or one target).
    Damage taken is reduced by a percentage (Stackable on Protect), and then a percentage of that is transferred to the caster's HP

    This skill costs 1 Blood Pool counter.

    This helps to close the health loss gap when healing others or fighting enemies.

    Spiritbind

    Much like "Reraise" or "Auto-heal". When the buffed target's health falls below 5%, it automatically revives the the target's health by a percentage (10-20%?).

    Costs 1 Blood Pool counter.

    It seems like you are borrowing ideas from dark knights of former ff games and tacking 'caster/healer' nomenclature onto it.

    It sound like a Blood Mage from Dragon Age serie. Also, the class might be better to be THM since thats their lore and in 1.0 the had Sacrifice spell that healed and put regen on the target using their hp.

    Actually the origin of the idea came to me from a game i used to play "Wakfu" with the Sacriers class.

    I thought soo too in terms of lore, but they'd need access to the CNJ spells to heal.

    i think it would be better to start this off as its own class, as sharing a class between 2 jobs kind of messed some things up with stat distribution. since it has VIT as a secondary stat, it would require a whole new gear set up. it would also have to have self heal only abilities, with something about the deity they are sacrifing their blood to returning their strength worked into the classes backstory. it is very possible, and i really like the idea. considering the trade-off, the heals would have to be powerful to offset the dqamage it inflicts, or self-buffs could be implemented, along with strong dps spells, even if it uses something like cleric stance to accomplish that high dps. it would be a very interesting role, one that i could really get into
