please help i have ran this quest 6 times and cant get the nails killed in time when am i missing... or any tips on how to get passed this?

If you have been neglecting your gear make sure it is up-to-date including accessories (make sure they have INT on them).

Another thing is to make sure you are also directing your pet to attack the nails.

Upgrading your weapon is definitely a priority. Even if you're using yellow carby, you can have him attack the 3rd nail safely without drawing aggro.

Put DoTs on the nails, use Ruin and Aetherflow+Drain to help burst the nails down and you should be fine. Your NPC should help burst down the 3rd nail while you kill the 1st and 2nd.

DOT all the nails, make sure carby is attacking them with you (if you have the nail targeted hitting sic or obey will make them retarget), if you fail then try again in the same session to get the echo buff.

I assume you are using raging strikes too?

Other than that all I can suggest is getting a hq book or leveling to the cap allowed by the quest and upgrading equipment to match.
