    Why do we need a disciple of war/magic to unlock leves...

    Why can't we just unlock them with trade and gathering jobs if meet level requirement please, though specifically I don't like fact DoW has to unlock so my DoL can do gathering leves especially when my DoL has stealth so the monsters don't pose a problem in first place. Also I would like it if could have a hand or land type guild quest every level not every five levels. So much of the game is focused on the DoW but not much has been given towards DoL and DoH which ideally I would love to change not by reduction of war content but increase of hand and land content/activities/events...

    SE has treated DoL/DoH as second rate classes from the beginning. DoW/DoM are the main focus, as evidenced by the fact max ilvl of DoW/DoM has always been far superior than DoL/DoH.
    DoL/DoH are time sinks for those that like them (like me), they are not needed for the story line in any way. All end game material is DoW/DoM focused and does not require any DoL/DoH to complete it. That being said, there is definite value in them, I save large amounts of Gil because I can Spirit bond HQ and melded items I made for the materia needed to complete many DoW/DoM quests (mostly relic related). But, you can still Spirit bond regular items purchased from vendors, it just happens slower.

    I am fine with the new Leves every 5 levels, as you can usually complete a level up with just 3 - 5 Leve completions for DoH/DoL. New Leves at each level would be onerous for DoH, as the constant need to change mats would just suck.

    Nah, what I meant by quest every 1 level not 5 wasn't referring to leves but to that classes guild quests like miners guild leader giving you a quest every level not just every 5 levels etc since we lack so much in the way of content/events/story expansion/no equivalent of fate or hunt type content and very few quests outside of leves. It leaves a little bitter taste in that the game does not make crafters or gatherers feel good about themselves in the long run from a story or world development perspective and would be nice if that would change through more content for crafters and gatherers similar to which mentioned above.

    In a war for example the people behind the front lines supplying the war machine are very important yet in this game they are made to feel insignificant and ideally I would love that to change, not to the detriment of the DoW/DoM classes but the improvement of DoL/DoH. FF11 for example did more in the way of making crafting and gathering classes feel special than FF14 does in my opinion even if wasn't perfect in that one either. I know we have leves and GC leves with GC leves offering more in the way of feeling needed than generic leves but even GC aspect including leves are very limited both in terms of quantity and quality of content and should be broadened and enhanced. What I will say is though the Ixali beastman tribe dailies was step in right direction via patch 2.35 aka content focused on crafters/gatherers as is the ability to craft items for housing is nice.

    Take a look at main story quests which totals over a hundred unique main story centric ones between level 1-50 for DoW/DoM (more than 300 if include variations based on which class within DoW/DoM) yet crafters and gathers get like maybe 10 from level 1-50 based on being one of those classes...wouldn't it be nice if had a parallel main storyline for crafters/gathers that runs alongside main DoW/DoM storyline aiding and supplying, supporting the GC's and Scions/Crystal Braves that numbered in the 100+ unique quests for classes within the DoL/DoH types? I would love to see that and it would make my crafter/gatherer feel so much better about himself/herself within Eorzea and feel more relevant to the ongoing story.

    By this example, players should realise that... crafting and gathering are optional, a fighting class is mandatory ^^:

    Fighting class is also optional and not mandatory in the sense of you do not have to do fates, do dungeons, complete main storyline or bother with leves to level up your trade or field class. As such they all become optional activities by proxy DoW/DoM also become optional because of this. You can level crafting and gathering to max level without doing those things including not having to do leves. As long as there is choice to do something or not even how you do something then it remains an optional aspect of the game. As far as I am concerned leves should not even need to be unlocked ideally and especially not with a class different to the type of leves you want to do. Perhaps they should only use DoW/DoM to unlock battle leves while leaving DoH/DoL to unlock field and trade leves if didn't mind meeting me half way on such an idea.

    The game design explicitly shows that a fighting class is mandatory,
    as you need to select a fighting class upon character creation. ^^;
