Thavnarian Onions became available in 2.3. So right around 2 months.

Eh ... Life, the fact that its a long list of which I only really care for a few lines, but mostly because it irritates some special yet entertaining people on the forums.

The fact that you were surprised you could level past 10 a full two months after it was added seems to be enough reason to think you should be reading them more thoroughly. It makes me wonder what else you missed.

It's like one of my friends recently said on mumble. "Wait, you can dye AF gear now?" The sighs on mumble were palpable. A cursory read of the notes would have told him that two months ago and he could have been done dying his gear already. Instead he's just now beginning this week. Lost opportunities due to laziness. It's not that this irritates me so much as I just don't get it. Why play a highly complex game like this to simply ignore the change log so long that you don't even know what the game offers anymore. Does not compute.

They became available at least 3 if not 4 weeks after patch 2.3, so very close to patch 2.35. There was a lot of crossbreeding involved and onions themselves take 10 days to grow.

Grats! I imagine less than 1% of the population will achieve this. Still 2 weeks to go on my first crop of onions. Small house plots take forever.

The closest we have to base it on is just that no one else has reported doing it. *shrug*

Are you sure you're from Balmung? I thought we were the relaxed, friendly RP server with players from all walks of life.

A friendly reminder : to some FF is a hobby, a form of entertainment not a chore or job. It's enjoyed during downtime away from RL stresses. Not everyone wants to read spoilers to run a dungeon, not everyone wants to experience the small hidden treasures the game has to offer via written notes. There are also those who treat FF like a religion. Best thing about FFXIV? All types of players can come together and have fun!

Yeah.. I've been rank 10 for a long while, or rather, my bird has. So what do you do to grow a Thav. Onion exactly? All I know is they are hella expensive on the MB, and I am not wasting gil (I don't think I even has as much as they are going for) on these things.

I'm gonna guess it takes the best kind of Thanalan Topsoil, but aside from that I have no idea.
