Sounds horrible. I'll stick to healing thank you.

It isn't a must, it is about introducing content that requires you to play better and utilize the multi-job ability this MMO has that others doesn't, and not just the same old "move, dodge, avoid" game play. It is about we have a multi-job character, so "use it, or lose it". Right now, it is not being used, and it is making ARR no different then other MMOs.
Besides, you are at end-game, and you still only play one job since the HARD modes?
I remember previous threads of people talking wonders about 1.x dungeons, I went to watch a random DD video and all I saw was people skipping over half the dungeon.Dungeons back then were something I avoided for the most part. Only reason I even saw the inside of 1.0's aurum vale was because my PLD AF had to be found there. It was, as lololink said: run to beacon => sleep mobs => stand in beacon until everything despawns => run to next beacon => etc. It was pretty damn terrible.
I remember the good old "You can only use ranged DDs, any melee will die and cause us to wipe" particularly when DH first came out, and you say you don't wanna level a ranged DD and you just get told "Well tough". If it wasn't for a new LS at that point, I would probably have quit there and then knowing I couldn't play how I wanted but how I had to.
Cutter's Cry, DDs Must use BLM for the princess, only ranged DDs for chimera, again, playing the jobs the majority say you need, rather than how you want.
AV, only MNK for Miser.
Oh and due to the necessity of a speed run for the best loot you just skip everything and only fight where it's needed. There were a lot of problems with the 1.0 dungeons.

Is it a crime for someone to stick to one job they really like? Why must it be a necessity to get all classes to 50? Not everyone is a completionist, some people probably enjoy one job enough that they don't feel the need to level up another one. Who are you to judge them on that?
What you are suggesting is horrible gameplay, No body wants that crap, i refuse to play a game that FORCES me to play jobs i may not even like. If they did go to that style of play this game would die very quickly. It isn't a must, it is about introducing content that requires you to play better and utilize the multi-job ability this MMO has that others doesn't, and not just the same old "move, dodge, avoid" game play. This is what makes XIV different from other MMOs, the character's ability to do multi-jobs with just one character. If people do not want this game to use it to its advantage, then they need to stop complaining about "how ARR is just like other MMO and it is themepark".Is it a crime for someone to stick to one job they really like? Being able to play multiple Jobs on one character isn't something the content is meant to utilize, it's there so people can be as flexible as they like.
Currently it is a nice bonus that sets the Final Fantasy MMOs apart from the rest, making it a requirement changes it into "I have to grind EXP and gear multiple times?".
Can you show where either of those posters made that complaint? The only complaining I'm seeing here is from you who wants game mechanics that will chase away subs back to 1.23 levels. This is what makes XIV different from other MMOs, the character's ability to do multi-jobs with just one character. Yeah, not everyone can devote their entire life to playing this game.
Seriously, how anyone can have all classes/jobs at 50 while still working/sleeping/eating/having any sort of social life is beyond me.
