    Recommended Stockpile

I'm recently getting into the crafting side of things and was wondering what do I need to stockpile to have on hand? I have a level 50 miner and currently working on my Botanist.

For Blacksmith and Armorsmith, you'll need a big pile of iron ore; bomb ash; and cobalt ore. And... for handles, hafts and so forth - various lumbers - yew, ash, oak, rosewood. You'll also need various sinews - beast, diremite, raptor, hippogryph. Aaaand... leathers. Leather, aldgoat leather, toad leather, boar leather, peisteskin, raptorskin...

why would you gather all those things when half of them are sold in venders in all cities not to mention at your fc house vender.??

yes all 1 star mats are worth stockpiling at least 99 of each.

if your actively crafting for blacksmith 2 star then your gonna burn through darksteel pretty quickly so will want more. maybe more than you can gather yourself in a reasonable time depending on sales. same goes for crawler cacoon and gold ore. buy up hippogryph skins when there cheap cus there needed in a lot of recipes as well.

really you'll have to learn the mats for the things you sell the most off and make sure to keep those on hand.

I wouldn't just worry about what to gather but also worry about character progression to be able to harvest 1-2 star unspoiled nodes. If you do not have access to them, you will have a hard time, already starting with 1-star recipies. Levelling to 50 is easy and quite quick, overmelding your gear to have 400+ Gathering and Perception may take longer.

I think it really depends on what crafter class you are leveling. Otherwise you may have alot of useless items taking up inventory space. I am leveling GSM now almost at 50, and it was a great help having MIN, ARM, and LTW at 50 already. Though I did level ARM and LTW together, which also helped alot. While leveling GSM I would only gather needed items at a quantity that I would use doing Leve's. Helps keep inventory open. Other than 1 star plus mats I wouldn't stockpile anything but shards until you have all the classes you want at 50.

Of course though you kind of end up with a stockpile from various monster fights, like fangs, skins, sinew, etc...

this page was very helpful. I just put in which crafting class im leveling, and it tells me which mats I will need to stockpile to make all of the items on the list.

    Hope it helps.
