People have been banned for naming and shaming, I think SE sees it as harassment which is against the ToS of the forums.
Forum Guidelines http://support.eu.square-enix.com/ru...la=2&tag=forum
Posting aimed to create a negative impact on the community or its members.
And the fun last point Taking any other actions that are deemed inappropriate by Square Enix in our sole discretion.
Basically naming and shaming is creating a negative impact on that player (with or without actual evidence) and if SE decides it's inappropriate that can and will take action.
What an IRONY! Innocent honest players getting insta (forum) bans for naming and shaming obvoius bots rampaging for MONTHS without any action taken against them ... tss tss
Anyway - I see those running around Moogle for weeks now, have reported about 7 or 8 of them - aparently all belonging to the same person based on the names and gear - about hundred times plus some of my friends did so as well without any reaction. This is very bad considering the huge negative impact on market hose have ... I was actually thinking of organizing a protest march on most affected servers, record the video and spread the world around the net to get the public's (and hopefully also SE's) attention to this burning issue.
NO. You've apparently havent read a single word of this thread ... it's NOT possible to have AFK status and run around nor will AFK status protect you from receiving tells or any other communication from other players. You're most likely confusing this with Busy status but that's irelevant here because even without "impossible" AFK status those are still obvous bots, the AFK status just makes it easier to spot. We're not morrons, we can recognize the bot when we see one. On my server those are running 24/7 for a month now usually in group of 2 or 3 at the same time / place, exactly same character with the same format of the names, gears etc. They move in exactly the same patterns all the time, you can spot the bot after one minute of watching them. Apart of that, low level gear with no melds and no other classes leveled are dead giveaways.its not a bot, its someone trying to mine in peace, without being harrassed about being a bot. You can set yourself AFK and move an do stuff all you want. Target yourself > SUbcommand > Edit Search Info > Set to AFK > Try to do something. Its to prevent recieving tells. The only way you can tell if someone is a bot, is if you witness them teleporting from node to node or mob to mob.
