"We're not elitists, but we want to be able to seperate ourselves from everyone else at will, and not see them, speak to them, or deal with them in any form, because they only bring us down- what? Why are you giving us that look? STOP THAT!!!"

We're not elitists because when we made a party to farm content we intend to actually farm said content. Not die to it repeatedly because someone thought they could get a quick clear in without saying anything.

Huh? But 40 pages of discussion have thoroughly proven that plenty of people are more than capable of beating the content despite not having cleared it- those same mechanics that make you fear having 1 person in there, is the very reason that 1 person hasn't won yet.

Its a cyclical argument, and its best to keep the system as it is. Which is likely what SE is going to do anyway, regardless to anyone's opinion on the matter.

It's not a cyclical argument, even if your first assertion was right. Which it isn't. Go look up what a cyclical argument is.

This game is known for its "party jump rope" as JP's apparently call it, everything from GARUDA HM on up is...not "hard", but let's say, too specific for key roles to go in there with no knowledge of the fight whatsoever, and win, with ease enough to call it a farming party.

I'm in favor of this. It's your party, you should have total control of the requirements. This would just make it more convenient than forcing people to display their lodestone achievements to prove they've cleared it.

Part of the problem is that 'practice parties' are far and few between, all people ever post are farm parties and starting up a practice party will often get you the people expecting perfect clears. Invariably after the first wipe these 'fun' people will start complaining and then rage-quit after the second, it's almost clockwork. This makes it incredibly difficult for the inexperienced to get actual experience to satisfy those who have said experience. And watching a video isn't experience, it's watching a video. Anyone can watch a video. Nothing is a match for having slogged the fight.

I actually think this is a good idea, though there are some issues with it.

It would allow people to avoid parties like this if it isn't their thing. Frankly, if there is a huge issue of first-timers getting through content because nobody is helping them do it, that's not really a bad thing - it forces SE to take note of the problem. It also creates a reason for people to join a Free Company or linkshell where they can get help for situations like this. There is already too few reasons for people to do things with other people.

The major flaw I see is that not having completed something is not really any indication of how well the person knows their job and knows the battle. There are plenty of people who have cleared things by being dragged through it without having any idea of what is going on. There are also plenty of people who know fights very well from doing it on other characters or from other sources like guides and videos.

Making baby step progression and learning how things went. Putting on my big girl roo's and ignoring and turning a cold shoulder to the cries of the occasional jerks of "hurrr durrr you are the suck!!" even after telling the Duty Finder Party I was learning.

Eventually I made it through to a point where I was confident I knew a majority of a fight and I sent a tell to the leader of one of the "experienced only" Party Finder people. I told them what I knew, what I saw and what part I didn't know. They let me join and even lowered their item level requirement so i could join. We wiped once and the second attempt we all won.

We have the tools to learn fights without lieing or sneaking into Party Finder parties. Its just in using them we have to be ready to learn and in the case of Duty Finder, being able to turn on a stoney side at the drop of a pin while learning^o^

When I make practice/learning parties, I usually fill them up... rather quickly. I get a lot of people who genuinely come to help, and a lot more people who are genuinely looking to learn. Mind you, I also put that you -have- to watch the video (just my rule for learning, sorry. Nothing bad to those who want to purely learn by sight- but I prefer you have both methods under your belt.), so maybe mine are more successful.

Even still, you shouldn't be joining a Farm just because you're 'not able to find a learning party.' That's not the fault of the farm parties, after all...

They'd rather jump into one that's preformed or halfway formed than to start from scratch. As such, they tend to fill up rather quickly when 4 players join on peak server time.

I support a completion box. If someone wants to exclude you for not having a killl, they are just going to kick you for a myth message or achievement check you. I also don't think players should get a free pass to lie/drag others down because they are new. If you feel that confident in your skill to clear, send a message to the party leader and let the party discuss. At the end of the day, most of the people playing this game are adults or teenagers and they shouldn't be coddled and allowed to dupe players because they may not have as much game time as you or I.
