PF for farms. Duty finder for "might get lucky and get a good group" farm. DF for training. The purpose of the DF is to help those that haven't cleared get grouped with others that haven't and those that have. It is there to group for content. If you want a guaranteed win WTH aren't you in PF? This is quite the long thread for something so...inconsequential.

PF use it, get a static, whatever and put up your own requirements, clear or no clear, no 100 myth bonus etc. Now, I can see this being ok for folks that can't get a static or play at odd hours that see no PF up, or don't wanna start one.

I don't know, this is a tit for tat type of conversation, both sides have merit and faults depending on the perspective.

Well let me just fill you guys in you think that is causes statics when people get left behind and nobody helps? I don't think so.

What this does when too many people are getting ditched or don't get helped passed a point, SE has to make a decision to gimp the runs or unlock parts of the game because they do not want to lose their player base.
They do not care if you guys wanna keep the content hard, should of helped those people get passed and SE wouldn't even touch the content but that won't happen cause some just care about themselves.

these are the very same people who whine they gimp the content but that's cause they don't wanna help. mainly their faults in FFXI people helped even when they already beat content. here its no thanks done it.

I'm on the fence with this suggestion.

Plus side: Slightly lowers the chance that someone will waste a groups time in wiping on a fight.

Down Side: Turns every boss fight into a significant barrier that people without a kill are only stuck with other lesser experienced players. This basically recreates the Titan HM barrier from 2.0 where players never touched the fight once they had the kill and the remaining players became an avalanche of death and despair.

I'd say that it's fine as is and if the players joining are really that bad, then it's easy to identify and grab a new replacement 30 minutes later. The dynamics for a kill group are far more complicated then simply having to remove those without a kill.

I actually like OP's suggestion. I don't think it will promote elitism at all. If anything, it will give more incentive for new players to actually create learning parties. In doing so, they can group up with like-minded individuals without getting raged at by players who have already cleared the specific instance.

Like others said, it is pretty inconsiderate to join a previous-win/experience required party blindly. I've been in enough T9 clear parties where the odd dude that said he's been to final phase really hadn't been there yet - wasting everyone's time. Not only will it make you look bad, but you'll most likely end up blacklisted by the party members lol.

There is a reason why people create clear/win/farm parties. I'm really lenient when it comes to DF and the easy dungeons. For end-game raid instances, however, I have to agree with those who support OP's idea.

Need to add a "watched 3 YouTube videos" "did not get carried" and a "Is not drunk/tired/waiting for pizza" button as well.

... So how about we just compromise and make joining a party that you -know- you don't fulfill the conditions for an actionable offense? That avoids the problem of potential playerbase segregation and also gives those tired of dealing with scrubs looking to leech off of the people who put in time and effort a weapon to deal with them.

Heh, I have to admit to doing something similar actually. I'd already had a good chunk of experience with Levi EX, as the off-tank even, but hadn't been -quite- able to get him down, saw a farm party up, decided, "I feel confident enough I can clear it with these guys, and if it works out and I get my clear I'll gladly stay with them and continue farming." Lo and behold, we handled things pretty well. We only managed a run or two tho because some people had to leave.

I kind of have to agree with the OP on this one. The Party Finder is used to form a team of like-minded people in order to tackle content whether it be a primal farming group, or a first room exp farm, or even a learning party.

I don't see why they shouldn't consider implementing this. The PF leader decides the specifications of the group when he makes the PF. Exceptions can be made by said leader if a person who wishes to join but does not meet the requirements simply asks for an exception. If a player who knows that he has the capability to do it, then he shouldn't be afraid to ask. It's not that hard to grasp.

If they do implement this, I hope to see more learning PF groups in the future. Lots of people I know don't take that initiative to start up their own learning party. So I think this may force these players to start acting instead of lazing.
