Latest update:
Q: Can you perform fine tune adjustments to PvP and have Hot Fixes with a higher frequency?
A: We'd like to proactively make adjustments to PvP specific values as often as possible. It looks like their focus is on the Frontline only atm. This update also match to YoshiP's interview with Famitsu.Q: Can you tell us about any plans in the future for additions or expansions to the Wolves' Den?
A: A lot of players are getting involved with Frontline, and even players who previously were not interested in PvP are participating in greater numbers. The current concept of the Wolves' Den is a place for people who want to improve themselves and become even stronger in PvP. We'll be making adjustments to Frontline including the addition of new maps and rules, and we'd like to see more players motivated to get better at PvP. However, if we make adjustments to both Frontline and Wolves' Den at the same time, it would become a bit too fragmented and we're concerned that matching might become difficult. For this reason, we'd like to focus on Frontline first and once the number of these motivated players increases further we'd then like to add rewards, rankings, and a season system to the Wolves' Den. We'd like to proceed carefully so that those players who are really interested in PvP because of Frontline aren't discouraged because they try the Wolves' Den and get defeated immediately.
I really wish they'd add Ranked 1v1 to Wolves Den. It should be simple enough to implement, and the queue times would be vastly improved compared to the 4v4 version. Just fix it so it's only ever matches you with someone on the same Class/Job, might impact the queue times a bit, but it's better than having a Black Mage verses a Marauder. The Rankings would actually be interesting to go over in that case, too.
PVP is currently balanced around morale being in the game... so no they shouldnt keep it out. Gearing up is easy enough for a kid with downs to do now adays.
Frontlines is not a success. Its a cluster of 72 people and no real strategy were bad players don't get noticed and singled out. Individual performance is negligible and that's why its done as well as it has
WD was not an epic failure, the attempts of SE to fix WD was a failure. For a while the wolves den Q was good, what killed it was the fact that SE designed a system that rewarded 3 players queing together more then an individual player. By the time they fixed that it was too late. 3Q domination drove out most players
I really hope I don't see GW2/ESO type siege pvp. Give me a Warsong CTF or Huttball. Anyways, did I read that correctly? They want to increase the scale of Frontlines? I seriously hope that does not mean increasing the number of players in a single game because queue times are ridiculous as is.
It was mentioned before that they will not increase the amount of people in Frontlines? If I am not mistaken that the Producer was happy with it being 72 people and would want it to stay this way.
So you will need PVP-Rank 50 for Ilvl 110 PVP-Armor. Hell no, 41-50 would take two times more exp needed then 1-40.
Other community prefers to see bigger scale of PvP I think. If they found a way to flush people out of Malestorm, this is possible. Oh yes, they also have to do something with match system.
Sorry to say.. but you are TOTALLY wrong..Nah they need to keep morale out. "gear up so u wipe the floor with undergeared noobs" mentality is dead now in FF ( and every other decent mmo ), and se know this, if you haven't realised @FL -->Huge success. WD-->Epic failure. Learn to play on an even playing field. Theres enough damn grind in this game, can't we keep pvp free from this? I want to have fun in pvp, not more grind T_T
first of all.. why does the equipment count for Arena PVP? no one was disturbed by the pvp gear within Wolves Den.. But now for Carteneau it is not okay?! this is even more drastically.. because you cant avoid these well geared players... its a small arena with just 4 people against 4 others.. while carteneau is HUGE and offers 3 groups vs 3 groups vs 3 groups PVP.. it is not like that in carteneau that you are just alone against a well geared player.
if they deactivate pvp gear.. i would have rather expected that for arena pvp and not for "openworld" pvp on a huge map...
second... it is okay that players have ilevel 110 pvm gear in Carteneau and are better than people with ilevel 100 pvp gear? (i know that they reduce the ilevel to 80)..
third... people have no drive to do pvp if they cant achieve anything from it. (look at pvp queues)
fourth pvp players should have the same right to professionalize like pvm players do, regarding skills AND equipment.
If they deactivate +moral ... they should remove all these "PvP Gears" ... and convert them to PVM gear also, that you can alternatively achieve in PVP..
or BALANCE the moral stat right... or implementing other pvp stats such as reducing pvp damage, decreasing casting interruptions
And last... the whole "no risk ... no risk.." path Yoshi P. and MMOrpgs like WoW... is SO Boring and SUCKS completely..
Receiving better equipment exists since the RPG genre... games like Diablo III... etc. etc..
PVP Games like DAOC (yoshi P. played it, too) lived from equipment and pvp skilltrees.. and it has the best pvp till today. its the portion spice which adds it to pvp... and the whole game..
it is what drives the players to do specific content... pvp and pvm.
