    Long loading screen when zoning

    Hey, hello & good evening.

For quiet some time now i am bothered by super long loading screens when i am zoning between different locations. (I am aware there are other threads regarding this problem but I couldn't find any solution.)
FF14 is the only game that has such a problem on my computer.
My computer hardware is less than 6 months old and runs all games on highest quality and best performance. I updated several drivers (including vga, chipset,..), changed the FF14 path to 3 different harddrives, tried different display settings and display limits (inside ff14), my RAM load is no problem either.
My connection is a lil bit slow with only 4k Mbit/s.

There are conditions under which i have loading times of 10 sek but very often i have these problematic 1,5 to 2 min loading screens.

I am open for your support.

    See You,
    Rayne

Hard drive determined your loading times, and second will be your CPU.
What is your CPU speed? Using HDD or SSD?

    Thanks for your help. I am using an HDD (WD10EZEX Blue) & CPU = i7 4770K @ 4x3,5GHz.

I don't want to get a SDD for this single game.

    2 Questions:
    1) If I'd get a SDD, would I have to run my OS on it too?

    2) Is there anthing else I can try?

(OS is Win8.1 btw..which I kinda regret choosing and I'm thinking of switching back to Win7

SSDs are the way to go. I have one and I run my OS on it as well as my games. So quick!

Your operating system as far as between 8.1 and 7 has nothing to do with it as windows 7 takes more to run than 8.1. You would probably still experience the same issue.

no, you can definitely use it only for games.

    2) Is there anthing else I can try?

Place the game on a HDD of its own, and/or Defragment the hdd.

Having the game on the same drive as the paging and os drive leads to lower performance, i suspect fragmentation following all the recent updates might be a cause of your issues though

    1) Nope, you don't have to. But SSD can improve your system loading times significantly, so why not.

    2) I don't think so, no.
