As I said in my thread about my rank 20, it hits as hard as my i101 bard and can hold threat off him for a period of time. They definitely get way stronger.

Yea the chocobos get awesome if you dabble into different trees and get multiple passive bonuses since they stack. Feeding them the stat-boosting favorite food also significantly boosts their effectiveness. I think everyone complaining so far is just reacting to misinformation or has just trained their chocobo for barding instead of effectiveness.
And yea someone mentioned this but it bears repeating, this is totally false and you still get challenge log XP past rank 10 and it's still awesome because it remains a % of what you need like always.Whats even more sad is the only way to level past 10 is stables or grinding out mobs since you no longer get exp bonus from Challenge log. If a SE rep can entertain me as to why there is no exp bonus for doing the challenge log after level 10, it would be greatly appreciated.

We started lvl 1, and now we are lvl110. When we will be strong enough for you, lvl200?In the future when both players and monsters become stronger we will look into increasing companion stats as well.
Hopefully SE will consider Horizontal progression. As it is now, it's ridiculous.
Back in the game to get that Onion >.<
I'd love stats on barding. I've long been hoping they'd do something like that. Could even add stats to current barding. And let them be glamoured.
I don't see anything wrong with the state of healing/DPS Chocos. As far as tank Choco enmity... wouldn't the easiest thing be to add a 100% enmity modifier when in tank stance? Boom... tank choco's are useful again.

Yea barding boosting stats just ruins the whole point of it which is to let you choose how your chocobo looks.

Barding should be vanity, not with stats.
For stats we have already foods.

When barding was introduced in 1.xx they made a big deal about how it was armour and they had a newspaper article about how it would protect the bird and stuff like that. That always seemed to me like we'd eventually get stats for them. The heaviest most expensive armour seemed like it would be really effective in particular. The fact that they didn't go ahead with that seems odd but maybe the just changed their mind.
