Hey everyone, I'm a new player but really new to the forums I'm usually in the chaos world. Lvl 31 arcanist. Currently psn is down or something so I'm slowly dying with out my ffxiv. Oh and I have a question I have made a bunch of matteria but I can socket any of them anyone can tell me what to do next would be very much appreciated

You need to lvl up the appropriate crafting class for the given item. The class you need, and the level required will be listed in the items help text.

A few things to note:

1: You can request that other people meld materia to your gear. You will need the materia and catalyst on hand.

2: Oh, yeah, you need carbonized matter of a matching or higher grade to meld materia.

3: All items have a cap on how high their stats can go, based on item level and slot. For battle items, an HQ item will be at or near the cap for all stats present on the item. For this reason, don't expect to add any materia for stats already on the item. It's best used to add secondary stats like crit or determination to stuff that doesn't have it already.

4: It's generally a waste to try and put valuable materia into things you'll replace soon. So, you may wish to wait until you're level 50 and have situational best in slot items involving it.
