Personal Housing Questions

Reading up (everything I can find) on Personal Housing, I'm really starting to get the feeling I'm going to be massively disappointed. I'd at least hope we could have different sized Houses, because you know, I've been saving up for this since launch, and they keep delaying it, so I keep saving up more. At this point I could just form a FC for myself and buy a Medium size House when they add more Wards I guess, but still.

I'm in the exact same boat. I feel that FC housing set the stage for expectations and that's not at all what they're going to deliver for personal. I've already begun planning for disappointment and have a rank 6 FC ready to go the moment new wards are added. It will be really sad if players have to resort to this tact to fulfill what player housing does not. No info, no communication; just terrible job managing this SE. : \

At the relatively (cheap) price of 800k, all I can say is this better be accessible to everyone, forever. ie: there better be no way for it to "fill up" like the Free Company wards have.

Also, I want to be able to assign FULL permissions to ONE person, and not a list of ppl such as FC members or Friendlist.

The sooner we can hear about this the better. There are so many variables and questions.

My biggest concern is that they make it so EVERYONE can get a personal house. If it turns out like the FC houses where its first come first serve and if you are too slow you are outta luck, then I have lost all interest in one of the biggest draws to this game that is still left. after this, my last hope is the Golden Saucer and its accompanying mini-games and distractions.

"First, we'll be adding land in patch 2.38, and it will then be possible to purchase personal housing, but the issue of how many plots to add will be under discussion until right up to the last minute." crap... after reading these MUCH closer im realizing that they're talking about the FC wards AND THEN (oh btw) you can buy personal housing AND THEN back to increasing lands in the existing wards. Seems like they are purposefully putting the land bit in front and end to make people believe they are talking about personal housing and not the FC wards. (i did public affairs in the US Navy for 8 years so i have a little exp with misdirection like this :P)

After they are all bought out in the first 30 minutes? In a three hundred page thread full of rancour. I can only imagine 2.38 as the second wave of housing threads burning bright, a marker of the ninth era, the age of when tonberries tried to find a home and were left to the streets. 2.38, introducing homeless tonberries - please look forward to it. XD

Specially as Pterois shows, they're clearly talking about land as if it is quantifiable, there is some limit to this land. I don't think I should need to be, but I will be pleasantly surprised if they somehow meet the demand.

When 2.38 is patched, from information on lodestone, I won't be available to play for the first few hours and so I imagine I'll be homeless too - at least I've got a personal room lol.


Long while ago, perhaps mistranslated, they said they might have housing expansions - perhaps then we can expect a well realized personal place to call home, something that can compete with the current MMOs utilizing high featurability and a friendly introduction.

Wonder if we're actually going to get any information on this before the update... Would be nice if a Community Rep could clarify;

Will Personal Housing have its own Wards?
Will Personal Housing use the same zones as Free Company Housing?
Will it involve buying a Plot and building a House + exterior like Free Company Housing?
Will we have multiple sized Houses to choose from?

In my head I've had the idea that the only difference would be Personal Housing not being shared; You could have your Personal House next door to your Free Company Estate if you want. If that isn't the case, well... I hope they put a limit on Free Company Alliances, because the obvious solution to my (and I'm sure many others) disappointment would be to just have your own personal Free Company and form an Alliance beyond that.

I wish they'd just let us know. Would it really hurt to have some tease or even solid information? We've had absolutely nothing whatsoever, which leaves me hesitant to get excited now.
Well, I am excited, but prepared for dissapointment too.
If it's like FC housing with limited availability then... ugh, I don't know. It's going to suck. If I can't get a house where I want it's going to suck. If I don't have enough money it's going to suck. Already I know I'll be at work on Tuesday when the servers go back up so... yeah...

already don't have enough lol... not even half of the purposed 850k which isn't "enough" but as it should be... i want getting one of these places to be some kinda achievement and not an entitlement.
