Exactly. The more you think about it, the more it makes sense they simply can't handle this kind of demand and instanced rooms would be the only viable route. Luckily for me, they're adding more FC wards so I'll be simply buying myself a mansion that way. Sucks for others though.

I am reeeeallly hoping this is the case. I would have much more loved the idea of wards/neighborhoods, but that will leave too many people out and sad.

It scares me a bit to read how other games handle it. The possibility of wards really exists out there. I'm hoping that's just the case with older/less popular games, and that Yoshi knows better than to introduce something so many people are anxiously waiting for, but that only a tiny percentage of people could enjoy. Especially after the initial introduction of Free Co. housing which shocked the population with it's prices, leaving most free companys settling for less or with no house at all, and then the wards filling up by the time some FC's did have enough saved to finally buy. To repeat that with personal housing would just be a massive mistake. The outcry would be exponential.

I really think personal housing is supposed to be Yoshi's "answer" to all housing - making it possible for EVERYONE to have a house. Right now, ONLY people in FC's with houses can have a house or a personal (private chambers within FC house) room and access to any type of gardening or stabling/choco coloring or activities. I'm lucky enough to be in a great FC with all these amenities, but much of the player population is locked out of it. Personal housing should be the thing that opens it up for everyone. This was always what I thought it was to be.

After they are all bought out in the first 30 minutes? In a three hundred page thread full of rancour. I can only imagine 2.38 as the second wave of housing threads burning bright, a marker of the ninth era, the age of when tonberries tried to find a home and were left to the streets. 2.38, introducing homeless tonberries - please look forward to it. XD

Specially as Pterois shows, they're clearly talking about land as if it is quantifiable, there is some limit to this land. I don't think I should need to be, but I will be pleasantly surprised if they somehow meet the demand.

When 2.38 is patched, from information on lodestone, I won't be available to play for the first few hours and so I imagine I'll be homeless too - at least I've got a personal room lol.


Long while ago, perhaps mistranslated, they said they might have housing expansions - perhaps then we can expect a well realized personal place to call home, something that can compete with the current MMOs utilizing high featurability and a friendly introduction.

I mean when we are just a few days away we should get something from someone I hope.
My FC is very tight and some of us would like to live close to each other but if it's gonna be a race for plots that won't happen. Timing is bad for myself having to travel 12 hours for work the day before. Some information at all would be welcome.

Way back when, when this game was still a concept, they mentioned we'd be able to trade plots so we could be neighbors with our friends if we want.

That is literally the only piece of information that gives me any hope for Personal Housing, and it is well over a year old.....

Well, they do say that "the issue of how many plots to add will be under discussion" which indicates that it's not individually instanced, as that wouldn't have a set number of plots. The fact that they're choosing a number of plots suggests a ward system like what FC housing uses. They just don't mention whether it would be the same wards or separate ones.

Personally, I'd expect separate wards, if only because we'd have a disproportionate number of mansion sized plots if they mixed private houses among FC houses while just adding some more wards to accommodate it. (Then again, maybe that's giving them credit for more common sense than they've shown so far. If they had any sense, they'd have abandoned the ward system. They've already seen the problems it causes if they're unwilling to extend the wards when needed as they promised to.)

I'll wait to see it when it actually arrives, but these little snippets that are all the info they're letting out so far make it look like this feature may well be badly done enough to kill the game.

Hmmm.... Now, seeing the fuller quote, it's not as clear which housing that first reference to "how many plots to add" refers to. Now I'm just confused. We're back to that they've still told us absolutely nothing, and even with personal housing about to be added to the game, it hasn't even been referenced except as an aside to other conversations.

Wonder if we're actually going to get any information on this before the update... Would be nice if a Community Rep could clarify;

Will Personal Housing have its own Wards?
Will Personal Housing use the same zones as Free Company Housing?
Will it involve buying a Plot and building a House + exterior like Free Company Housing?
Will we have multiple sized Houses to choose from?

In my head I've had the idea that the only difference would be Personal Housing not being shared; You could have your Personal House next door to your Free Company Estate if you want. If that isn't the case, well... I hope they put a limit on Free Company Alliances, because the obvious solution to my (and I'm sure many others) disappointment would be to just have your own personal Free Company and form an Alliance beyond that.

I wish they'd just let us know. Would it really hurt to have some tease or even solid information? We've had absolutely nothing whatsoever, which leaves me hesitant to get excited now.

If it's like FC housing with limited availability then... ugh, I don't know. It's going to suck. If I can't get a house where I want it's going to suck. If I don't have enough money it's going to suck. Already I know I'll be at work on Tuesday when the servers go back up so... yeah...

already don't have enough lol... not even half of the purposed 850k which isn't "enough" but as it should be... i want getting one of these places to be some kinda achievement and not an entitlement.
