BLM Soldiery spend advise.

Hey all,

Quick question, looking for your input.

So after this weeks Soldiery cap I will have 1392 Soldiery. I currently have a UAT and sand ready to go so I could get Laevetinn either today or tomorrow depending on my effort. My question though is...should I wait on getting the Laev, and gear up some more?

Currently i93 with W. Ring, Earring, Sash, and TOP hat, and Scylla's Robe. The rest is Allagan and Zenith relic.

Would it be more beneficial to use this 1300 to get gloves, maybe boots, try for an oil from ST and get another ring? Leaves me with 27 Soldiery but puts me at around 96-97 ilvl. If I decide to just take the weapon I should be aroun 95ilvl.

I am leaning more toward the weapon, as BLM is a DPS, I should focus on weapon upgrade.

What do you think?

I would agree on the weapon too.
Also try to get the sand from ST.

Also, only aim your accuracy max 470 (pre patch 2.4). You can fill the rest that gives determination & critical hit as you secondary stats.

Weapon's a nice choice to have until you've worked on Relic Nexus or getting past Coil of Bahamut turn 9.

Get weapon, get sands, upgrade immediately. Its BIS until Novus or High Allagan.

I would also say get the weapon asap as that as what would hold you back and then go for the boots and gloves.
T5 for instance you definately want the weapon.
Sand and oil can be obtained in ST and there is the option to get blood logs from hunts to trade in for those as well.
Despite with what some other blm's have said well not in this post anyhow, Scylla's Robe is actually very good and for my build the soldiery chest would benefit more my smn then my blm.
So you can easily use that Robe and just focus on getting other gear.

Boots, Helm, Gloves, and Ring are all very good on Black Mages and in most BiS lists people come up with, all or at least 3/4 of these show up in those sets. So get your weapon, then go for those. If you're accuracy starved, prioritize the weapon, then the ring, then the waist. Otherwise any of those 4 are good options.

EDIT: Didn't notice you said you had the Ring, waist, and helm already. In that case gloves and boots are very very good options after your weapon.

I'd definitely go for the weapon---that will boost your INT/damage output and boost your HP quite a bite compared to your zenith relic. Once you get that out of the way definitely get an Oil that way you can upgrade the ring you have. This way you can buy another ring next week.

UPDATE.....

First of all I can't spells. Advice... lol

K, finished up my Soldiery grind last night and went and got my Weathered Laevetinn then straight to the masterworks to unweather it. Went from i93 to i96, and nice stat boosts.

oh... a little suggestion about hand & boot. You might want to consider not getting the soldiery version, especially if you accuracy still not enough. 470 acc should be good tp to coil t9.

Get the ST version instead until you can win HA version from 2nd coil, legs from t6 and hands from t8. The i90 version weren't so bad either. Both can be farmed from coil t2, or the leg can use the myth version since it share similar stats.

You know, I was thinking that about the ST stuff for hands and boots as I agree that the legs are still pretty solid. With that being the case I can use the Soldiery to either close out the accessories, or use towards WHM or DRG.
