What am i doing wrong in the Ixal quests?

Just got the A High Wind in Ishgard quest about an hour ago, and I'm still doing it, with 0 successes at HQ. Every other one of the repeatable crafting quests I've been able to complete with no problems, but this is by far the most annoying and aggravating one. My CP is dropped to 112, there is 70 durability, the progress is 113, and the quality is 1558. I can get progress done easily with Steady Hands and 3 uses of Basic Synthesis (39 progress each, so the 3rd finishes it). The quality however is a different beast altogether. I'm getting anywhere from 8% to 11% odds of HQ AT THE HIGHEST. This is compared to the other ones where I can easily get a 70%+ chance of it, with no cross class enabled.

I'm not a fan of nerfing anything dealing with crafting, but this quest needs a serious one. Just disabling cross-class abilities would make this a doable challenge, but the CP dropped THAT much? I'm sorry, this quest isn't possible with a level 33 GSM (my highest crafter) who has 262CP (112 with that debuff on), not without some insane luck.

Which rank is that? So far the only rank where I had to go do stuff in Coerthas was rank 3 quests, while rank 4s take place back in North Shroud, and Rank 5 is done in Mor Dhona.

If it's the Rank 3 ones, they weren't too bad. But if it's something higher, like rank 6+ (I don't have any experience with those yet, still on Rank 5) then I guess I can understand, specially if you're only lvl 33.

Rank 6. The problem is the other Rank 6 HQ quests they send at you are way easier than this, this feels more like a job for a level 50 crafter with the best gear than anything lower.

This is the underlying flaw in this quest, and it just HAS to be a bug. There's no way they can expect someone to craft THREE of these things with 1558 quality at level 16.

And before anyone says it, yes these are level 16 items. The whole point in the Ixali quests was to get people into crafting that weren't before. They were not designed with the expectation that you have all DoH classes maxed out in order to complete them. If they were, they would have made the quest level 48+. No, these are level 16 quests that are in need of SERIOUS adjustments with 2.38

There are 2 possibilitys:
1) We dont need to do HQ or
2) Stop that shit with lowering the CP, thats the source of evil in that quest

Edit: I think they tryed 2 things:
1) Lowering CP to force us to use cross class skills and having best gear or in other Quest
2) Not allowing Cross class skills, so we are forced to have one DoH at level 50

Rank 6 and no, being lvl 33 is way beyond the target level for this. Like it was said before these quests are intended to be done by low level crafters, and all but this quest can be done by a lvl 16 crafter. I'm pretty sure this quest is bugged.

I became frustrated with High Wind last night. I had to switch to my level 50 WVR to complete it. It took judicious use of Hasty Touch, Tricks of the Trade and Masters Mend as well as using Careful Synthesis II to complete the HQ items it asked for.

I honestly can't see a low level crafter being able to do these and being really turned off of crafting in general.

if you cant handle the rank 5 or 6 quests then dont do them, you can hit rank 7 by doing the others

This is what I am doing. I have all crafters to level 30. I"ve level up my CUL to 37 and now I'm pushing my CRP to 50 (41? right now). I made it to the the rank 6 level and started doing these quests. I made sure to not have 2 dubuffs on at the same time. I think the one turn in (it took me 8 attempts before I got my two HQ results). The other one took me 5 attempts before I got my one HQ result. I think the quest reward covered the crystals that I had used up in my attempts, but still I decided that I'll just do the 3 level 5 quests, 2 level 4 quests and 1 (Vender) quest to level up to level 7.

I recognize that my gear is probably what is holding me back, all of it is level 30, so I'm now well above that. But yeah I laugh almost every time I see "You must be a lvl 15 DOH class" to complete this quest blurb, I just laugh.
