Has anyone noticed the colored constellations in the sky? Or am I just crazy?
I see a dark blue one, a light blue one, a pinkish/violety one, a red one, a green, one and a yellow one so far….

You're definitely not crazy. I brought this up a while ago in the astronomy thread, but I dun think anybody ever did anything with the info.
Perhaps now that there's a starglobe and the chart in Coerthas, you'll be the first one to map them out!

Oh, I didn't know about the star globe or the chart in Coerthas! Where can one find these?
(coincidentally, I was in Coerthas when I saw the constellations!)
Funny you should bring this idea back as I've noticed a lot recently watching the greater moon rise that nearby Menphina there is usually a very distinctive, cross-shaped constellation of five distinct stars, (including an apparent Epsilon Crucis stand-in!), that looks very familiar to Australians like me.![]()
It's probably just coincidence, but it's so distinct I now deliberately go looking for it each night now. I've actually started even half-heatedly calling it the 'Eorzean Cross' accordingly. I don't actually expect that's it's true name of course, but I like to think it is.![]()

There was definitely a dipper shape of some sort too!
It was weird though, as the night went on, the colors faded, but I SWEAR they were clear as day when i saw them! There were most certainly 6 very vivid constellations, and not just one, but all of the stars in each constellation were of an elemental color. For example, the "lightning" one had like 5 pinkish/purple stars in a shallow M shaped pattern. The red one was a smaller constellation just to the right of it. The dark blue one was a long straighter, snakish pattern with BIG dark very clear dark blue stars. And the icy blue one was just to the right of that… the green one and yellow one were more towards the center of the sky…
Cn anyone post screens of these constellations, I am very interested in them
Also Considering the atma quest I wasn;t very surprised that there would be similar star motif around

It's a carryover from FFXI. In XI every avatar was represented by a constellation in the sky. There's a map in Windurst.
I see Moose has stepped in pointing to my old thread about it. Admittedly I've been quite lazy about investigating further. I do have a series of screenshots I did one day a while back from a clear night in the Sagolii with the purpose of eventually stitching them into a pano (imperfect as it would be given the quick rate they rotate). I'll see if I can find those and upload em if anybody else wishes to try their hand at looking at my data.
In terms of the colors being more vivid at times, I'd venture to say it's game time/weather conditions affecting it.
Wouldn't call it a simple XI carryover though. The layout is quite differently, even if the similar concept of elementally aspected stars was.
