Please implement IP ban on the forums

It's beyond any reasonable doubt that we got some nasty, obsessive trolls on the forums.

They get banned, but they just get another account and restart openly trolling with a similar nickname. It's so out in the open that I really wonder how the moderators can stand seeing their moderation this easily circumvented.

Please start banning people by IP, not just by account. It would make it a bit more difficult to circumvent bans, and it'd make this community a little cleaner.

Moderation does not work if it's not enforced.

IP bans can be dodgy though, I'm banned form http://www.ffxivorigin.com via my IP, but I've no clue why as i can't recall even posting on it, not even sure i ever signed up lol.

There may be some cases why they may cause small problems, but that's why a way to contact the moderation team should be present in any forum.

But no forum can do without IP bans, otherwise there's simply no way to enforce moderation, and the heavy trolling going on here is quite the proof of that. Someone breaks the rules? He gets banned and the day after he's back again with a new account, trolling again, because he feels untouchable.

Hmm correct me if i'm wrong but your account here is tied to your Square Enix registration. Would that not be sufficient to ban users permanently?

That's be true is there weren't still tons of friend codes from the collector's editions around. It's very easy to get a new FFXIV account nowadays. In fact we have several banned trolls that are back with just slightly changed names and the same attitude.

Don't matter they be back you can just call your ISP to change your IP or do it by other means so does not matter. Just went to this goes P2P i don't think they would pay for this game just to troll on the forums -.-

I think this would do more harm than good. You have to take note that some people are on dynamic IPs.
Sounds like you're extremely bothered by them - that means they've won.
