I just found some wild coeurls and can confirm that they have the same glossy/white look, so it seems to be more like all coeurls have these eyes and not just pacified mounts
Sounds like lazy/bad design to me, just like their love for starved-looking horses (and now wolf...).
PS3 limitations.
Next thing you know, we'll have petitioners asking them to cut off PS3 support and referring to the PS3 as a type of "cancer tumor" that once rid of will allow the game to prosper! XD
ANYONE whose browsed the FFXI forums at some point will know what sig I'm talking about. X3

Jamesy is here to lay down some facts. First a horse and their rider is a form of symbiosis as well most horses can't see directly below their jaw and a few have blinders. This is where horse riding becomes about trust specially with hurtles. The horse doesn't jump by itself most cases a que is given that being said if your horse ran off a cliff it would be the riders fault for not directing it properly.
They are mounts, i mean, how often do you look at the eyes of mounts?

In the case of Coeurls, many of them have gaze attacks, so their eyes are not "normal". Horses tend to have eyes like that. Behemoths well... fantasy creatures o_O Lions? well, I dunno.
The blank-color eyes are meant (in the case other than horses) to give them an otherworldly feel. Kinda like Storm from the X-Men with her all-white eyes in angrymode. If they look like cataracts well, that's mostly because we don't have behemoths, coeurls, and weird chihuahua lions in real life.
Are you sure they weren't just too lazy to give them proper eyes? The blank-color eyes are meant (in the case other than horses) to give them an otherworldly feel. Kinda like Storm from the X-Men with her all-white eyes in angrymode. If they look like cataracts well, that's mostly because we don't have behemoths, coeurls, and weird chihuahua lions in real life.
