After 3.0 is released, rather than increase the ilvl in, say 3.2, they offer new gear with different kinds of stats? Perhaps new stats? Examples of new stats would be something like Attack Magic Potency, Thundercloud + 5%, Healing Potency, Greased Lightning +2 seconds, Windbite Critical Hit Chance +5%, etc.

Personally I would love this. Not only does it prevent your gear from becoming outdated so quickly, it gives players room for strategy by allowing you to create your own build. One thing I feel that this game is lacking is variety. I think it would be great to see 5-7 sets of possible gear players can equip, rather than there only being 2 real options.

I know Yoshida mentioned looking into adding other kinds of stats into XIV a while back and I'm curious to see how implementing them into XIV would change things in terms of gear progression. I'm curious to see how you guys would feel about this
