    Hunt Mob Entitlement?

So recently I was in a party discussing hunts and one member said something along the lines of seeing a party "Ninja" a hunt. Aka they had their own party down it themselves for the seals and did not call it out. To me that sounds fine, if anything the zerg mentality of hunts itself is exploiting the system (No no not THAT way, just taking full advantage of spread out loot) I understand how it works and I even participate in it. The thing that disturbs me is this person referred to a solo group's activity as "Ninjaing" a hunt mob, which in this case is used as a negative aspect. Are we really so entitled to think that ALL hunt mobs belong to the legion of players? Can't people hunt the way SE intended and not be viewed in that light? I would like to hear everyone else's thoughts on this subject.

My thoughts? The very word "hunt" explains exactly how the system should work. The player(s) that hunt the mob should get the mob. It makes me laugh when a player(s) complain when they are not given the hunt target location information...how can it still be called hunting then?! lmao

I have people get mad 5 mins after it gets called out, asking why we didn't wait longer. Whats the limit here? Do I have to wait till you get back from the store? once my group gets there, I wait a few seconds if i see a large group behind, if its a few people trickling in, i pull.

I'm not going to wait for people who go afk waiting for hunts, come back and see something has been called, and then want me to wait for them to get there.

I don't think people should complain about missing an A rank. It's going to respawn in about 4 hours anyway and a bunch of them may spawn in between. If it was an S rank, I can understand.

I guess the only reason why it's called "Ninja" is because the mark died without people noticing. I know the hunt community usually keeps up a way to keep track of the time of death for the marks (In the form of a spreadsheet or website with updatable timers) so they'll know when the mark will approximately spawn again. If someone were to "Ninja" some of those mobs without informing other people, people may lose track to when those marks will spawn again. Finding marks may become a bit more difficult because nobody would be able to correctly update the timers and you'd see people running left and right in every zone to look for the marks. At least, that's as far as I can tell.

I really don't think the system was designed to be zerged as it is. However, because multiple groups can get credit, teleporting around is cheap and players metaing the system, many groups think they are entitled to each and every spawn. The funny thing is, players that are grinding hunts for hours are essentially recreating the old school MMO grind.... roll up somewhere, wait, socialize, mobilize once a spawn is found, kill, rinse and repeat.

I wonder if they are in hunt LSs, if no, that's fine as they are hunting as SE intend like you said.
But if they are in LS, geting info shared from others, but they silently killed the mob without sharing when they found themselves,
it is just plain selfish, nothing more than that.

My personal take on it is that generally, you should try to wait long enough after discovery for people to port in and run. Anything past that is waiting just to wait. Now, when I say you "should" wait that long, I just mean that it's the generally accepted amount of courtesy.

Now, people will say that you shouldn't ask people to or expect people to wait. My response would be that waiting doesn't hurt anybody involved as long as there's not a second hunt mob up elsewhere (and even then co-ordination means everyone can get full credit on both). There's really not a reason I can think of to not wait for people, unless you only have like 20 seconds before you need to log off and go somewhere, or something.

Is it just me or is this game heading to the same grave XI smashed into when it started going bad? I can hardly log on now with all this hunt drama and enjoy actual content.

When I hear the word "entitlement", I think of poor-sport casuals that are too afraid to compete with other players in the open world. They will whine and cry and protest to the developers to change the entire nature of the game, so that they can win.

The "Hunt" is what it is for a reason.....it means get out there and LOOK!...not leech off of other people's findings through an LS and expect 50 people to wait on you and your potato of a computer to zone in....
