    Question regarding changing Chocobo's Plumage....

So, yesterday morning before I left for work I fed my Chocobo, Pwnelope, 10 Apples, and 5 Pineapples, and was presented with the message that my chocobo is growing new feathers, and my chocobo's plumage will change in 6 hours. I had previously fed my Chocobo enough snacks to get her to Millioncorn Yellow and am shooting for a Red/Orange-ish color, however when I returned home from work, 9 and a half hours later, I examined my Chocobo and there was no change. Confused as to what I may have been doing wrong, I fetched my Chocobo to see if at that point I might see a change and there was no change. I am confused as to what I am doing wrong. Do I have to stay logged in for the 6 hours that it takes for the plumage to change colors, or is there something I have to do to trigger an event in which the plumage changes colors? Like maybe train my chocobo, or feed it before fetching my chocobo? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your chocobo will only change colors if the last fruit you feed gives you "Your chocobo is growing new feathers" message.

I recommend only doing one fruit type at a time. Due to the fact that each fruit has some effect on all 3 colors it can be easy to accidentally counteract what you were doing. This is further complicated by the fact that you can apparently get high and low quality procs on the fruits. Basically the end point of any change is going to be determined by what dye color the current R B G states of the chocobo end up as the best approximation of based on the currently known effects of dyeing.

Thanks so much! If I dont' get any results from my last feeding I'll try the one fruit type at a time method. I really appreciate your help!

I have heard a few people say that the fruit can "proc" it's effect or not... however, even after feeding it so many, to not get a effect seems strange to me.

I did try feeding my chocobo just a small few at a time and got no effect before as well. There are two different messages you can get (well three) when feeding a chocobo. One is no message of course, another is that your chocobo's plumage will change and the last is that your chocobo is growing new feathers. I would possibly suggest, that the only one you stop feeding on is the "growing new feathers" message, as I have gotten the "plumage will change in 6 hours" message and had nothing happen as well.

The advice to only feed one type at a time might be good. But I would always feed more than one of that type that you choose and look for that message about growing feathers as that has given me the results I needed to get the color I wanted.

Here is a link to the color changing map that someone worked out in the Chocobo Dyeing thread: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/16...661/Tdbywa.png

It at least gives an idea of what has worked for other people though your mileage may vary due to the random factors involved.

(Yes you always want to have a growing new feathers message at your stop point. If you do not get it at all there will not be a change. Even if you get the message if different fruits were in the mix the final result may be the same as the start if one moved it to a new color and the other moved it back.)
