Did someone really just compare videos of a video game with the history of the real life world in terms of importance? Really? Seriously?

    I... Don't... Even...

Maybe you need to take a break from gaming and see what the world is like if you feel a game holds that much importance.

Her point made perfect sense though - Research is important no matter what. It's there for you, you can't play this game unless you have an internet connection, meaning you have all of the resources available to you in some fashion. No computer? Your ps3/Ps4 can browse info for the most part. Chances are you have a smartphone as well.

No PS3/PS4? You're obviously not playing the game then.

The point, as everyone seems to ignore, is that the person felt we should literally have all of those videos that people make to HELP people should be removed. Tools, that are created by those who came before, to help those who come after, should be REMOVED. Does it make more sense now?

So, yes, I did make the comparison. And you can tell the people who refuse to understand quite easily by the responses.

It's people like you who make MMO communities such a bad place. Instead of treating it as a real life situation with consequences to your actions and interactions with real people you treat it as "just a game". If you do something wrong you don't expect to be punished for it because it's "just a game". You don't think about other peoples feelings and opinions because it's "just a game". You don't learn from others or your own mistakes because it's "just a game".

I had the perception that you were replying/contributing to the topic, agreeing with those who think people should watch videos.

In this game it's not just research, it's straight out cheating considering everything is scripted, videos tell you exactly what and when will happen, not much of a guide, it kills the fun of the learning stage.

One thing I do agree with you is that it's not unreasonable to skip the learning stage for very old fights, but hullbreaker is hardly old, it was added in the last major patch. Dungeons in general are easy enough that it doesn't justify skipping the fun of the learning part just because a few people are impatient.

As for the quote, I agree with the core point Ispano tried to make, saying that all all guides should be deleted is ridiculous, though the history book analogy seems a bit inappropriate in this context.

Except it's not. I will be one of the many that will agree that learning from a guide or video is nothing like experiencing it yourself. Even for people who can pick up mechanics easily from watching someone else do it, ie from a video, there's an even smaller amount of those people who can actually learn from that experience and improve upon it. Most of those who can pick it up from the video, just imitate it. Once things change, the flaw presents itself. But in the end, the person still has to execute the mechanics and clear the content, the guide or video doesn't do it for him or allow him to ignore the mechanics, like a cheat would.

Also, Hullbreaker is most certainly old. How much of the population do you believe is truly new to that dungeon in comparison to those who are not? Not saying you need guides or anything, or enforcing it either, but it's still old in the scheme of things.
