Please hurt yourself physically. The only ship jumping this would cause is people jumping ship on this game.Xonsider cutting a % of said offender's current gil total that they're carrying. Or even deducting it from their EXP total so that they Delevel from 50, which would prevent them from re-queuing the exact same fight so when they're leveling up trying to get back to LV 50 they have a small time to think a second time before they actually jump ship.
Scenario:
Your SO has had an accident.
You are half way through a DR.
You have to rush your SO to the Hospital.
Oh wait half your gil is gone and you have to re-level from 49.
Flawed system.
I don't agree with op but this argument is almost as bad.
In a situation like that you probably would not care about your game, and situations like that are rare to begin with, so it is absurd to design a system that takes so rare occasions to consideration. In cases like that you would just have to deal with that, it's like the fact that you lose your crafting mats if you dc during crafting but even more rare.

Not this, but I do want to see a 5 minute lockout if you hit withdraw when a duty pops.
If you genuinely have a reason you can't enter the instance at that time then you can wait 5 minutes. If you're just fishing for in progress then tough luck, it's going to take a long long time to get one.
I think they should make it so that someone can not get another random dungeon, untill they finished the one that they received the first time.
A example Player A gets Copperbell Mines, Player A does not want to do this dungeons and goes offline to fake d/c or just leaves. Player A clicks on random duty after the penality is over and instead of getting a random dungeon, Player A gets Copperbell Mine again. Player A will keep getting Copperbell Mines, untill he finished them.
This way there is no extra pointless way punishment and Player A knows that he has to finish this dungeon sooner or later, so he grind his teeth and do it.

How does one know if they're rage quitting?
I think to prevent people from trying to get their loot and running....leaving the group without a member they should say that you got loot but not show what it is or allow you to roll on all loot until either A) you complete the dungeon or B) vote abandon is passed through. Then you roll on everything you got in the dungeon and leave after one of those conditions are met.

People who make these threads are probably the reason others want to leave the run in the first place.

So basically, if I'm stuck with 3 bots and I can't kick them all, I should pay for leaving? Or if the people in a run really aren't that good, and I give them advice on how to improve, however they ignore it and it still leads to wipes, I'll have to pay to repair my gear, AND I have to pay because I leave the instance? I'll just leave the money on my retainers the next time then, what a bad suggestion that is LOL.
