a lot vs alot. Commends do not prove anything as people get bonuses for giving them out. I agree with what Urielparadox said if you are having a large number of rage quitters. Maybe they should make an option for when you click "leave" in a duty you have a few choices to say why you left if you want to. Then there is data to analyze, which could even be used to see what % of the time people leave duties that you're in and why. (Not a serious suggestion, but it would be interesting to see.)

I think I would rather just have the person ragequit than go through the entire run raging about every little thing because they can't.

Or going afk or some other form of griefing.

A Gil punishment isn't even close to a moderate proposal.
Sometimes real life happens, I've only ever had to bail on a dungeon once due to a RL emergency after dog was stung by a wasp, does that mean I should have my Gil taken away from me? To say it should would be a joke
And would only encourage people to dump all Gil in retainers so they would lose 0 Gil.
A better solution would be a way for the system to track people that repeatedly bail on an instance and reduce their rewards until a set amount of full clears have happened
So say you quit ten times in a row, to get full reward again you need to clear ten

I don't think ragequitters are really that big of a deal. Some people act as if its an epidemic or something and while, yes, there are really rude and jerky players there aren't that many that are THAT bad that they should make the punishment "worse".

As has been stated, any punishment is easy to avoid and making punishments stricter is also going to punish people who aren't doing anything wrong but are unlucky with a situation.

Not only that but there have been few times that someone has actually left a dungeon run in my experience because of rage or being kicked, and of those times I have never had a problem pushing on through the dungeons while waiting for a replacement. This game isn't -that- hard and most dungeons can be completed with three people. (a long as some one can heal, even if its not a healer-type, you should be fine.)

It's a part of the game.. I find that unless it is the slow period of the day for my server, DF usually finds replacements pretty quickly. Half the time someone just ups and quits, THEY were the problem. We get a replacement and happily finish...

So you want a bigger penalty to force someone to stay in maybe a bad group? no not going to happen in what world would that even be fair, yes there is people that just up and leave for no reason but why sit there and punish people that have sat through numerous wipes and still not getting any further just because your group isn't smart enough or doing enough damage.... I say they need to remove the debuff for leaving if you have wiped so many times or have been in the instance for a certain period of time because i still get mad when i have to leave a group and end up getting a 30 min cooldown because the group couldn't grasp the concept of the fight. I say if they are going to change it then do that if not leave it alone.....

This has nothing to do with fairness; it's not fair for either the person that has to deal with an incompetent party or the people who wait to queue have to be inconvenienced by a person who quits the run because they didn't one shot the entire thing.

And no one is forcing anyone to do something they don't want to; When you voluntarily queue for a DF party no one forces you to queue. I've only merely stated that a 30 minute punishment is way too lenient. I could care less if someone doesn't want to stay in a party to finish the run for w/e reason, but I think there should be more blood drawn when someone casually walks off without trying until the run opens up to an abandon.

But there is nothing to fret about; the devs are heavily focused on tricky gimmicks, lax penalties, and environmental fluff to keep their XIV playerbase steady. There's no way they would ever consider increasing a penalty to deter said behavior.

I am quite certain that there are quite a few players on Primal Data Center have their Baccalaureate in trolling. Or failing hard. Whichever comes first I guess.

In a nutshell, the more punishments you make, the more people will dance around to avoid it.

Maybe people on your data center are trained to troll you, but I rarely have problems with rage quitting on my side.

Sorry for not staying because a party member died on the first plumes on titian ex.

Sorry for not staying because the other three members of the party are equipped in crafting gear.

Sorry for not staying because I don't tolerate verbal abuse.

People rage quit for a reason, if you're going to be a bad player over and over why shouldn't you get punished?
