Why is shield swipe so bad?

The added pacification debuff makes it seem like you should be timing this to interrupt enemy specials. Except the timing is so tight you can't. And every single significant enemy is immune to pacification.

And, the fact that it's on the Global Cooldown means you have to interrupt everything you're doing to activate it.

Seems broken. Please fix.

Obviously you don't play PvP. A friend of mine, who no longer plays unfortunately, played PLD for Adders. So, being Maelstrom, we tended to encounter one another while I was a MRD and shield swipe mixed with Shield Bash was horribly annoying.

Pacification in pvp is hilarious... ;D

Shield bash, pacification, shield bash, pacification, - oh no look your healer died, final shield bash and death. With a black mage and teamwork (not hitting slept targets) ... you can shutdown teams - funny until it happens to yourself XD

Have to use cover sometimes to get some blocks >.> lol. Shield swipe feels a bit anticlimactic for PvE though (imo, since it seems bosses are immune).

Yeah but at least your HG is really good outside and inside of PvP. Holmgang just doesn't compare outside for several reasons, one being duration. Would also prefer a longer range too but sure, it is how it is.
