From the dev messages:
We don't see a lot of forum posts about the maps, but please care! Tell us they're good, bad, tell us anything at all. We'll find motivation—and sometimes tears of rage—in your feedback as we continue building Eorzea. Please keep adventuring with us!
I wish there was a different venue for feedback, but okay!

I love the maps.
They're detailed and immersive, and I'm probably not the only one who takes screenshots for the scenery alone. The seemingly infinite drawing distance, lighting, and sky all greatly add to the package, but the environments themselves have been interesting to explore. I thought the Sightseeing Log was a nice way to try to get more people to appreciate it all, while disseminating lore as well. I look forward to there being more log entries; the existing ones gave me some views that I had no idea existed.

I appreciate that I still haven't found any pits to get stuck in, and from which I could only get out of by using Teleport/Return.

I wish Coerthas had more teleport points. (In comparison, why does Northern Thanalan have two?) But at the same time, I still remember how scared I was as a newbie entering Coerthas for the first time. So expansive, and the monsters were bigger than me. And I wandered into Behemoth's Dominion during a blizzard, so I couldn't see very far in front of me as I inched my way forward, afraid that I'd actually see a Behemoth.

I think it'd be neat if there could be more interaction with the environment. I'm just remembering little things from FF11 which I didn't realize I could miss. Riding geysers through Dangruf Wadi. The romantic idea of the Full Moon Fountain (I do not miss waiting for full moons for those quests though). Weight panels requiring more people of certain races to open annoying doors. Or lycopodiums chasing you.

Why can't we land on top of those rocky towers at the bottom of Titan's arena anymore? Seeing who could land highest on the tower was the best minigame for parties that kept wiping.

Someday, I want to see how small lalafellin children are.
