Celes_Chere, I have never run into that problem with past MMO's - ever. Alot of people project fears of chat bubbles but I've never seen it in my many years of MMO gaming. Plus an option to disable chat bubbles would fix your disdain.
They are ugly. I don't even like the chat bubbles that pop up from random NPCs talking nearby. (Even if the conversations are funny...) It's an eyesore. I've played games with chat bubbles before and it was just awful.
