There seems to be so many conflicting articles and answers online, so I wanted to know if anyone knew for sure? You’d think if Yoshi is working on it, it’ll likely be an MMO. Especially since a lot of developers have dev kits for the PS5 by now.

It's not even said it'll be FFXVI, just a new project.
No one outside of SE knows anything about XVI. There hasn't been a single mention of the next FF yet. Anything online is pure speculation.
It's very unlikely to be an MMO, unless they're planning on killing off XI, which I don't think they are, they're still doing more with it.
It's entirely possible that they're continuing down this "games as a service" route, that they experimented with in FFXV. It could be modular, have online/multiplayer components, in which case I can see why Yoshi P would be a good candidate to direct it, and why Tabata would give anything to avoid it...
Yoshi has stated they don't have any plans for another MMO while FFXIV is still doing so well and bringing in the money, so XVI is unlikely to go down that route so soon. However as Seraphor mentioned, the next title might have online/multiplayer components but I think we need to expect to be more of a single player game.
It's not even sure there will be a FFXVI. What we know, is the department lead by Yoshi-P is the one who is in charge of the Luminous Engine. According to their own words : they are working on a new licence AAA. That's all we know for sure. I failed to find more informations.
Since SE has changed departments structure, several projects can be run by one department, then we can't really know.
FF16 will not be an MMO, most likely. It would be far too early. If there is a new MMO, it probably won't be until FF17 or 18.
Provided they want to continue the franchise at all, though I don't see why they wouldn't. They don't want FF XIV to go anywhere for the foreseeable future though. It's just too dang profitable.
