Increase the Penalty For Those Who Leave After Getting Loot

It's hard enough to get an Oil from ST. Even harder when the whole party is rolling on it, because all 3 people who got loot from the prior bosses left immediately after getting said loot. This exact scenario happened last night to me.

Maybe they would think twice about pulling this truly douchey move if the penalty for this was was, say, 4 hours?

Don't tell me not to roll on items to prevent this. I will in the future, but that's not the point. The people leaving right after getting loot are 100% jerks, and the game should have a system in place to stop them.

The 30 minutes is fair. Even if you made it 10 hours people would just do it and go do something else. You can hunt, do Atma, craft, beast dailies...we don't need people making topics whining because they lost a piece of loot. Everyone has to deal with the same thing.

Make it so you Win your roll at the time of drop but you do not obtain your item until you exit the dungeon properly. Either through exit at the end of the run or by a vote abandon.

I'd actually prefer a penalty for withdrawing during the dungeon ready up phase before you ever get into the dungeon. If you withdraw or let the timer run out, you can't queue again for 10 minutes.

ive had 4 healer drops in one run of ST, is it "truly douchey" if i drop because i rolled on the first one and i want other healers to have a chance at getting their weekly loot? just because you feel its inconviencing you, doesnt mean it should be changed. you dont even need 24 people for ST. i tanked every fight last night, and held hate succesfully against all enemies, except for a few off the adds that spawn. if the other tanks had left after rolling on their gear, it wouldnt even make a difference. for the people who will leave, it doesnt make a difference because ive never had more than 3 drop from one instance. you feel youve been wronged, because you have more competition for the item you want. get over it, and suck it up. if someone joins while you are actively fight xande, then yes, it would be an issue, but i would bet money you wouldnt complain if you got an in progress run.

I would really like to see somebody actually figure out how players dropping affects your chances of rolling on an oil or UAT. I've seen a few threads like this, but as far as I've seen, nobody's come out and said "Yes, this is terrible behavior because it drastically reduces your chances," or "Actually, it hardly even matters since you're all rolling out of 100 anyway." That said, I'm terrible with statistics, so I have no real idea what the impact is.

I'm bad at math too. But 1 in 5 is better odds than 1 in 8. I know nothing is guaranteed.

Mageblack's suggestion is fantastic! It would definitely fix my problem here! When I get home and can edit the OP, that's going in there.

I'm sorry, but that is the risk and consequence of a pug. You may want the oil, but somebody else may also want it. You may have put hours into those runs, but the people who stay or the people who join in progress may have put days of effort in. I know it sucks when your chances on getting the loot you want becomes lower, but everyone is on fair ground on any loot, no one is more entitled to any loot.

Would suck to get disconnected mid-dungeon with these rules.

They should force you to do 2 hours worth of FATEs. That's the most punishing thing they could possibly make you do considering how much they suck, lol.
