    Sound Output Device option?

Does FFXIV have an option to change the Sound Output Device you're using? Because I'm trying to get the game's sound to come out of my speakers but use a USB headset for Teamspeak/Skype/Ventrilo/etc

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section btw :3

Well im pretty sure you can set the windows default sound output to those speakers then set whatever VoIP service to go to your USB headset. I know Vent and Mumble has that option.

Most games dont have the option of picking a which sound output device to use, it just picks whatever is the OS default.

its under the general sound settings ingame. Normally wut I came to find was it will auto set to which ever output you start the game up with. Normally I would start the game up with my headset unplugged then after its launched up, plug the headphones in for vent/mumble use.

FFXIV will always use the default output device. Go to your "Sound" menu in windows under the playback tab and set your speakers to default.

Then configure your VOIP program to specifically use your headset. (should be under settings/playback/configure)

I don't have the link right now but there was a forum moderator answer to this awhile ago. The statement made at the time was they were working on Microsoft to fix this very issue and allow us to select the audio device from within the game. I.E. go from speakers to headphones. I have 3 sound card in my machine and I can answer from personal experience that it all depends on the soundcard. My Soundmax will hotplug and keep sound but my creative labs will not. Here's hoping they come to a resolution soon.
