You could craft lvil70 or even ilvl90 gear but frankly the tome gear you can get is faster and cheaper to get. It is nice though for self repairs using dark matter.

It is useful to level weaver at the same time, mostly to save gil by making your own gear on your way to 50.To make end-game armor you need to know that a level50 weaver isnt enough. To make ilvl90 gear HQ, you need the ilvl70 crafting tool and alot of materia melded into your gear. This is a hell of a grind tbh. You also need crossclass skills from other crafts, so leveling weaver only isnt enough.

If creating end-game gear for your healer is your only incentive to level weaver, you will probably be better off by getting gear from myth tomes or buy crafted 90 gear from the AH. At least on my server you can get HQ gear on the AH pretty cheap now. (around 100-150k + approx the same in materia for melds)

Like the others have said, it's quite costly to only level one craft especially if you don't plan on levelling any gatherers. Crafting for some May seem like a long boring task but it's really worth doing if you're levelling all, can make quite a bit of Gil just off levelling, take advantage of your daily leve allowances if you decide to level crafts it makes things a lot quicker. There's guides you can look up online, look for repeatable leves

Don't do the triple turn in (repeatable) leve's. Before the exp nerf they gave insane amounts of exp, but not anymore. The courier leve's from the guilds home city Adventurer's guild are much more efficient.

I asked the exact same question as you when I was getting started, and for WVR as well! Anyway, the best advice I was given was this: "take the time to level all of the DoH classes to at least 15 before focusing on a single DoH class". it actually doesn't take all that long; only a few hours per class, and this gives you a ton of great cross-class skill that will help you in your endeavor!
