iv been playing this game for a very very long time now and iv loved a lot of the updates and addons... minus a few fails from the development team on some small choices...
(sorry ahead of time if i come off a bit rude/angry/disrespectful, i tried to hold back my full feelings on these matters the best i could)
such as:
CHOCOBO DYE: feeds were a good idea minus the time to make them.... but making them be a hex color template with RNG factors to them and making us to "guess" the color of what we want... was garbage. please, at least give us a fruit to make a color we want with out RNG, its already pain staking just for glamor as is. imo making things like 3 days to garden a fruit that isn't even gana give me what i want... 6hr wait times to "SEE IF IT WORKED"... another week and i may see the same color on 25+ different combinations of fruit to only waste more time and effort sitting around wishing i was dead, makes me want to look for a new game asap... at the least have feeds sat what DYE it was incorporated with like "soot black" / "snow white" EXT.
GLAMOR: id like to start off with the AF1 sets... im sure we can all state " WE HATE THIS " minus the greedy crafter's wanting to make 500,000+ off an augmentation just to glamor ur set... (don't get me wrong i understand its to spice up the economy but...) please don't ever add anything like this again... its very disappointing to see that i have to spend all my time, effort, and money just, to dye a set im most likely gana toss away once im board of the look ... glamor in a game shouldn't be the highlight of the game the content should be , and if ur using glamor as fillers, higher new development team/idea suggestion teams XD on a side note to the glamor, everything that "CANT" be dyed should be made "Dye-able" imo, and on top of that why is only one section of the gear dye-able, when theirs multiple layers, they all should have separate tabs to further customize our gear to the fullest
ATMA / ANIMUS: the idea of adding to the relic's is awesome, i like that idea, but making them "ZOMBI LIKE FARMING" is a shitty idea, go back to the first relic quest style, make it be fun, not hugely time consuming, not weekly lockouts, just make a fun and long quest line to hunt items down, not this "fate farm" / "myth grind" crap,( im pretty sure myth farming is just your teams way of copping out on ideas...) and im sure, im not the only one hating on all the new relic stuff... (iv made 4 atmas, 3 animus 2 novus >.> so i know how shitty it is, but i sucked it up, and ill still say id rather discard them if it meant having a fun quest for them instead of this "FARMING" crap) for atmas, the RNG factors for fates is a bit too low, still farming one area for 12+hrs and not one drop is a bit too ridiculous at the least 1-2 hrs maybe less would be more reasonable - the books for animus, if they had no myth farm to acquire they would be a lot faster to go through yes, but add in like 12+ books instead of just 9 in place of the myth would equal out the time consumption, and u just had to collect one by one and finish them, would be a lot more fun. the books them self's are actually fun (sad to say it but its true) its just the myth farming to collect them that's mind numbing to the point of quitting. understandably the myth farm is to drag the game out longer but that's a shitty reason honestly,
NOVUS / MATERIA : honestly i don't even know what to say...worst idea ever? claw out my eyes? /wrists?... all that comes to mind... sorry to be so negative but as one part of the novus WAS a good idea, changing stats to fit players builds ++++ but, using materia? worst idea, UNLESS! you make items convertible with out spirit binding, OR make spirit binding easier, OR allow us to choose the materia from the items we convert less randomness, OR even make the book for novus instead of it being materia IV = 1 point? have it = the amount its worth +6. OR why not have other things drop materia = dungeons/fates/leves/guildhests/treasure maps/myth/rowena's tokens from extremes/EXT.
FINAL THOUGHTS: as you can see im a bit disappointed with how some of the small things are going in FFXIV: ARR, don't get me wrong tho i love the game and i want to see it become even better. but to do this it needs tweaking and stop thinking "how can we slow progression of players down to make update quotas?" instead think "how can we make things fun and enjoyable to play for them yet time consuming enough to the point they don't even notice allowing us to hit our update quotas" if some people rush the content and finish it and become bored that's there own fault not the games. making the rest suffer because a hand full never log off doesn't seem like the right approach. some people are always going to be slower then others and some faster than others, placing a weekly cap sucks but imo is the best way to hold back progression for the hardcore vs casuals ratio, but making animus /novus = 100,000+ myth farm for books/alexandrites is just ridiculous
one last small suggestion, Ramuh extreme: i like the fight it isn't that bad but the weapons not being 100% drop is bull shit, honestly we farm it just for glamor really and almost never see a weapon just accessories that just get tossed to the ground because no one needs them. plus "RNG" factors are always shitty, i don't know who, or even want to know who in there right minds likes RNG in a game... please no more RNG (ya ya flame me for it, but id rather have fun then RNG)
