    Feature request - ignore level

    Action: /ignorelevel <player level>
Purpose: Ignore players that are below <player level>. Players below this level will be unable to send messages to you. This will help stop gold seller spam and help discourage them from trying to saturate the game with spam bots.

Features like this have been in several other games I've played and have been very successful at discouraging the use of bots and spamming.

So you're assuming that gilspammers are low-level characters? And then that most real players will use this feature to block their messages?

What then happens with the real low-level characters who ask for help?

How often do you have a true low level player send you a tell asking for help? Pretty much never here. If someone can't make it past say, level 10 on their own. Then they have problems bigger then a level ignore. Every time I have ever been spammed by gold sellers, they have all been characters at level 1, that they create temporarily in order to spam people. Besides, if you don't like the feature, don't use it. No one says you have to use it and I'm tired of having to clean out my blacklist from deleted gold seller characters.

I wish there were a downvote function on this forum.

I am also tired of cleaning out my blacklist, but I don't think this is the appropriate solution, nor can I imagine SE instituting this "feature"---they seem to want to do everything to insure that new players feel welcome in the game.

Personally, I would rather that they separate the blacklist into two lists, the current blacklist which would be used for its original function (real players who are annoying) and a new "rmtlist" which could be used for gilspammers. The rmtlist could be kept on the server and players would not need to manage it. In addition, adding a character to this list would server to inform SE that it is a (potential) gilspammer and they could begin investigating. I doubt they would institute automatically preventing a character from sending tells if more than X players added the name to the rmtlist, but personally I would want that too.
