    Just some ideas

    Hey all, this is just some ideas that i want heard or possibly implemented.

    New classes:

    -A Dark Knight class because I love swords and I got into FFXIV because of SAO and currently im a Paladin but I would really like to see a dual handed long sword like the classic Sephiroth and Cloud FF movies or maybe a Dual swords class so I can be Kirito
    -A Gunblade class since there is already the maelstrom pirates using guns and gunblades are a classic FF thing.
    -It will be better if the ninjas were placed in gridania so they are the hidden leaf village instead of beach ninjas, and put the gunblade class in limsa lominsa.

    New Areas:

    -flying areas
    -swimming areas

    Gameplay improvement:

    - coats
    -capes
    -a way to glamour the herkladi to my armor if I just used more glamour crystals for it
    - limitations on teleporting because it makes people lazy and not explore the world, instead having to teleport using the large atheryte crystal in any encampment or city

    DRK has long been mentioned as possibly coming sometime in the future - it was a while ago but I remember Yoshi mentioning it in the context of classes gaining secondary Jobs, and that he mentioned DRK as hypothetically being a way of taking an existing class and altering it's current role (he used the idea of DRK coming off GLA to turn it into a DD class instead of a tank). But nothing is known for certain at this point.

    As for greatswords, there's early renders of 1.0 that clearly show greatswords, but they were never implemented, so it's possible they could be implemented in the future (I think the closest we have to a greatsword at the moment is the relic sword Curtana and Odin's blade the Zantesuken, both PLD weapons.

    And dual-swords are what RGE and NIN are going to be using as their weapons (alright, they're really daggers, but they're still basically short swords in a sense).

    Well, there was long meant to be a gun-using class in the game (called Musketeer, or 'MSK' for short), but it was dummied out of version 1.0 and has quietly been ignored in ARR. It's been much requested though, and Yoshi has kind of dropped hints that they're looking at it for the future. As for gunblades, the Garlean version is actually a very rare weapon only used by their most elite troops, and usually little more than a pistol with long blade attached to the side of the barrel.

    Given the fact that it's two weapon types rolled into one, I don't see it being an easy fit into the Armoury System which has strict roles in regards to weapon types. If anything, I see them being simply rolled into either a weapon for the hypothetical MSK class and stuck in gun form, or to be used as a fancy looking sword for GLA and PLD (this is how Lightning's gunblade the Blazefire Saber is used in FFXIV - it's a GLA and PLD weapon which is just a sword with a fold-out fancy blade).

    Nothing is known for certainty at the moment, but Jobs don't actually have 'guilds', only classes do. Personally given 2.2's storyline, I wouldn't be surprise if Yugiri is the Job npc for NIN and would therefore be based in Revenant's Toll, but I guess we'll see. And MSK has long had a guild in Limsa Lominsa already (the Coral Tower, now also shared with MRD).

    Given the fact Yoshi has dropped hints about the future direction of the game featuring flying (such as players building their own airships), I think flying areas are highly likely. Swimming areas though, I doubt somewhat, given it would just be too difficult to have to render (I'd rather see actual open field areas added to the game myself, but that's just me).

    There are actually already coats in the game - robes for instance are very much like coats (and in fact, Snow's coat from FFXIII is also in the game). They're often just not listed as such in the name.

    Seeing as that 1.0 featured visible belts that were removed into ARR due to being too restrictive in regards to clipping and designing armour to go with it, I doubt very much capes will ever be added. It's a sacrifice that has to be made to give better variety in armour design.

    The thing is, nothing is forcing anyone to teleport - you know the old saying, 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'. How often do you take a car to a place that's only five minutes walk away? If a more convenient way of doing something is there, people will prefer to use it. It's human nature. Really, a lot of people just don't have time to leg it between places on foot.

    And nothing is stopping anyone from going out to 'explore the world' either - in fact, recent content has been designed to do just this and encourage exploration (treasure hunting, sightseeing log). There is definite reasons to go out and see the world now.

    Im really having fun with the game having just complete my last animus book and omw to novus while doing static raids for second coil trying to get high allagan gear, I honestly just want to be like Cloud or kirito (if you know who they are) then the game is perfect. Still has lots to improve and grow as a world but its getting there with the upcoming 2.3 patch.

    I hate to break a dream, but you'll never be like Cloud (not related at all to FFXXIV's lore) nor kirito (nothing in common between FFxiv and Aincrad, except the "MMO" part).
    Also, "dual wield" was a hacked ability given by Kayaba Akihiko to create the "hero who saved the players", I really doubt you'd ever see it in a SAO-like MMO

    I don't know, I can see a cloud skin for a warrior axe from some sort of event being possible at some point.

    I love dual-handed too. It would be nice :3 In fact, my main character in WoW was a Frost Death Knight, because of the dual-handed. But I am really pleased with Pala and you can be Ninja... But I know... It's not the same as having a really heavy armor with huges swords and axes :P

    I wonder if they can give paladins the option of a two handed curtana but twice the parry or just the regular one handed curtana and holy shield combining parry and block, warriors get to use a two handed axe, do they use parry?

    Well.. I suppose so. Block is just with the shield. Parry is literaly to defend with a weapon, like the sound you hear when two swords find each other :b A char only have block rate when you have a shield. When you don't you can just have the parry rate and the dodge rate.

    The 1.0 opening movie where people are in the inn browsing through leves features people walking around with Great Swords on their backs. So it's not entirely far fetched.

    The terribly restrictive archaic Armoury System on the other hand. SE already mentioned there would not be any two-handed swords for Gladiator since it would require too much to animate. (And alternatively, though not spoken, they're gonna run out of weapon options soon for new jobs since they didnt think the system through at all, what's left? Rapiers? Great Swords? and then what... oops, all out of options >.>)

    And despite Raubahn dual-wielding and being a Gladiator, i dont think we're ever going to get that option. Again due to having to re-animate a lot of things.

    creating new animations shouldnt be a problem at all, they are already finished with ninja and it requires more animation CG than a normal sword swing, there are already model animations which are used by mobs. There are already rumors starting to come about for the new classes/jobs coming out in the expansion such as the dark knight, samurai and some others.
