Seriously, Fix the DirectX issue already!

Im getting really tired of the DirectX error that occurs when playing the game in Full Screen. I know having it in Windowed removes this, but why should we have to do that?

I always seem to encounter it when I initiate a levequest, or go into a Dungeon and it's really grating on me.

The rendering engine needs a major rework. But I doubt anything will change before PS3 release :/

I think the full screen toggle crash should also be dealt with it's 2011 people! This seems like a major bug that affects every user of XIV you'd think they'd have some plans of getting rid of it by now...

I can't run it in 1680x1050 windowed mode for unknown reason, the game crash immediately at beginning

I have to play in a small 1440x900 windowed

Use a program called 'Gamer's Window Relocator', and play in windowed mode. It's removes the border and works flawlessly. Then you can even tab out of FFXIV to check out items on yg.com for example.

It's still a major issue. Especially if you have to control+alt+dlt in windows 7, then that shuts down the game as well.

You just gotta be patience with FFXIV it seems. haha. Theres so much work needed since the pass team did such a horrible job. Its like they have to revise the whole coding of the game and add content as they go.

If you use Windows 7 you can also turn frame snapping off and just drag the window outside the screen. I'd still like a fix to the issue though as I prefer to browse, work, and play in different resolutions.

The issue with all these third party programs that window the game and allow you to run the game in a pseudo full screen mode is that you still lose performance in windowed vs true full screen.

It's a pretty big hit, maybe you don't notice it if you're playing in a lower setting or your PC is really beefy but I have a fairly decent PC and I have to lower my settings considerably if I want to play the game in windowed mode and still get worse average FPS.

I personally would like to see resolution to this at some point in the future.
