I chose Maelstrom because it was the starting city for Arcanists, so it seemed fitting. Really, none of the Grand Companies suit me as they have some really glaring faults and I'd rather hang out with Alphibro and the Crystal Braves. Prior to the Braves being shown, I wish SE had allowed us to decline all three of the grand companies.

I chose flames yes... but our elite GC gears are sure ugly.

I used to be a Flame, I loved Ul'dah and Nanamo but I wanted a red coat (the original from the GC vendor, before hunting) so I switched to them. But my heart still belongs to Nanamo.

Can't believe such a stylish city has such colorblind designers for our GC gear though, the regular stuff I mean. The allied seals stuff doesn't suit me but it isn't bad.

Well the Maelstrom is alright, they have nice colors, and ships and the ocean is cool, but they do seem to be instigating their beastmen tribes by taking over their lands, and lot of crime happens.
Flames, they have some power in Ul'dah, but evil Lalafells are running things, and their city is full of slavery, corruption, and they treat the poor horribly, as well as anyone not a citizen of ul'dah, like ala mighan refugees.
The twin adder tries to keep peace, they have a treaty with the sylphs, they did kick out the ixali, because the elementals did not want them, but they may have a good reason for it, so aside from being at elementals' whim, adders seems best, and i like the magical forest feel of gridania

Twin Adders. Other GCs are for different mentalities, crush something and wannabe pirate ones.

I am not on RP server, but I chose Twin Adders because I ended up in Gridania, with Ranger so it made a sense to me. Later I have found out that I dont like other cities. Uldah is just a place for greedy capitalists and Limsa is a nest of fish lovers and I hate fish.
