Please fix lockouts and the class system clashing. It is killing alts and content.

That is why I think lockouts should exist per job and not per character.

No, that'd be a bad idea for gear progression, cause that way you could clear raid content 9 times a week, which would basically multiply your chances at getting loot by 9. If all 8 people in your raid play 9 jobs, that raid could easily kit out their main toons in about 2-3 weeks + getting tons of gear for their alt jobs as well.

Don't know why this idea comes up like every other week, because the lockout system actually works like in every other MMO out there. If you want to clear content more than once a week, just go ahead and level a real "alt" (read as different character, not just a different job on the same character) - no one forces you to level all classes/jobs on the same char.

I would have levelled a "real" alt if I had the knowledge I have now back then, but when you are new to the game and they throw the armory system at you and encourage you to use it, how are people supposed to know about the lockout? Should I go level all 8 classes again on 8 different characters to 50 on another character even though I have all lvl 50s on one character?

Err, did you even read the first part of my reply which explains why having separate lockouts per job is not actually a good idea at all? And why did you level 9 jobs prior to setting foot into a raid? Even the levelling process for your alt classes (the same old fate grind festival over and over again) could have told you, that all forms of achievements are tied to your character and not to your job, as finishing one quest on a specific class/job automatically meant that this quest won't be available to any of your other classes/jobs on the very same character.

It's not the system that is at fault, as it does allow for real alt characters that behave just the way you and/or the OP requested. Just because you didn't level real alts, for whatever reason (may it be misinformation or just the lack of information at all), doesn't mean the system is to be blamed.

Now you have the knowledge. Just have to create new characters to get loot from coil for your alts

At what point did you come by the knowledge of the lockout? Your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th... 8th level 50? Did it really take you leveling to 50 eight times to no longer be "new to the game" and understand how the lockout works? Most people learn the lockout early enough to play an alternate character if it bothers them.
